Is there a way to have my Homey use bluetooth on my computer?

So you want to check if your computer is powered on by scanning for its Bluetooth signal? Have you tried this app?

> Detect your presence with BLE beacons

Note that you do need a Homey Bridge for Bluetooth on SHS

ESPresence uses MQTT to communicate with home automation platforms, and ESP32’s for the BLE handling.

I know but unless I am doing something incorrectly (I probably am) you have to configure your bluetooth beacons in ESPresence

Combining the title and post: you are looking for a Bluetooth dongle for HSHS? That isn’t needed for ESPresence.

Like @robertklep already pointed out, for ESPresence you’ll need (to purchase) certain ESP23 boards (see link below), and you’ll need a running MQTT system, wich can consist of either this Homey app set:

- MQTT Hub + MQTT Client + MQTT Broker

or this app:

- MQTT Server

(The MQTT protocol communicates per (W)LAN, wich is already available @ HSHS)

Here’s all explained in detail (as found on the app’s app store page):

MQTT Tutorial (just ignore the “nrg.watch interface” parts):
