# Appliance detection software

Is there a way to implement an appliance detection functionality with Homey + an Energy meter.  
I’m looking for something like Sense ([sense.com](http://sense.com)).  
From what I read, Sense has open sourced their energy detection functionality.

I doubt it, that’s their entire business model. Where did you read that?
