Hi, since a week I also have the issue of Homey not being able to connect to my Slide. I had it in local mode configured, but it stopped working so I completely reset it. Now it keeps saying that it can’t find new devices when I try to add a new device in Homey. Already tried switching the Slide to Cloud mode for 24hrs, but that didn’t solve it. I can still operate Slide via the Android app.

Do you have any idea, @Dijker?
See my(our) post(s) above…

Did you have the same problem? Any idea? (And wouldn’t it be a good idea to remove “solved” in topic [#214](https://community.homey.app/t/app-slide-automate-your-curtains/11915/214) from this topic? See posts [#184](https://community.homey.app/t/app-slide-automate-your-curtains/11915/184), [#186](https://community.homey.app/t/app-slide-automate-your-curtains/11915/186) [#188](https://community.homey.app/t/app-slide-automate-your-curtains/11915/188), [#189](https://community.homey.app/t/app-slide-automate-your-curtains/11915/189), [#208](https://community.homey.app/t/app-slide-automate-your-curtains/11915/208), all different users…

Exact same problem here, locally by hand in the official app, it works but not with homey. No device detected, even when I switched to cloud and back after 48 hours.
Would be nice if there’s a fix.

It’s working here for quite some time now (knock on wood)…
Perhaps a Homey update meanwhile has fixed something?
Is your Homey firmware up to date?

No problems here.

Maybe what you can check. When I installed the homey App “Homekit controller” for a aqara presense sensor, I saw also my slides curtains in the list, probably slides has also Homekit inside? Perhaps slide gonna work with that?

Coincidentally I also have an FP2 sensor, unfortunately that doesn’t help either ☹

Hi All,
Just found a simple way to control my slides and like to share it with this wonderful community.

Use local API and control the curtain with a simple http post request in a flow:

This looks promising, can you perhaps explain how you did this?

Sorry for my late reaction; I’ve been really busy with work and life and NodeJS is not my favorite language to program in 😉

A new version of the app is under review; this should solve the problem where Homey after a while “forgets” how to resolve the .local address to an IP.

If you want to test: [Slide | Homey](https://homey.app/nl-nl/app/nl.innovationinmotion.slide/Slide/test/)

It should resolve the .local into an IP at the beginning, and if that won’t work, use the IP-address the Slide originally had. If that also doesn’t work, you can set it in the device in Homey now, and it should start working again.

@Jorden Hi Jorden,

First of all, thanks for continuing to maintain and improve the Slide app!

I have a feature request for a future update.

Would it be possible to add the following features?

1. **Individual calibration:** The ability to calibrate each Slide separately directly from Homey, without having to use the official Slide app.
2. **Manual start and stop controls:** The ability to manually start and stop each Slide motor at any moment, including while the curtains are moving.

These controls have always been available in the original Slide app, but unfortunately the Homey app currently doesn’t have a dedicated stop function.

Especially the stop button would be very useful, as sometimes I want to stop the curtains at a specific position without having to wait for the movement to finish.

It would be great to have these controls available directly in the Homey device interface, rather than only through Flows.

Would this be technically possible to implement?

Thanks in advance for your work on the app!

I have to look up the documentation I got from Kaj of Innovation in Motion to see if there is a way to start/stop immediately.

I am almost certain there wasn’t a “calibrate” option specified in that documentation. I’m not sure if that means there wasn’t one in the “local” API, or if it’s just undocumented.

I simply hold the curtains physically to do that. Slide will stop within a second or 2.

Resistance is not futile. RIP captain Picard.
