You did add the [MQTT integration](https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/mqtt) as well?

You can run the Homey [MQTT broker](https://homey.app/en-nl/app/nl.scanno.mqttbroker/MQTT-Broker/test/) app instead, to see if it gets better results.
