Quick question before I design my whole-house audio around WiiM and Homey.

I plan to have 3 WiiM Amp Pros:

- Lounge
- Terrace
- Sala

Each connected to a TV via HDMI ARC.

Example:

A YouTube music video is playing on the Terrace Apple TV.

Audio enters the Terrace Amp Pro via HDMI ARC.

I would like a Homey dashboard button called “Party Mode” which groups Lounge + Terrace + Sala so the TV audio from the Terrace Amp is heard across all three zones.

Can the Homey WiiM app:

1. Activate a pre-existing WiiM group?
2. Trigger grouping from a Flow/dashboard button?
3. Will HDMI ARC audio from the group leader be distributed to the other grouped Amp Pros?

Has anyone implemented something similar successfully?

Hey @ChrisG I just raised an issue on the Github repo. I am trying to add functionality to the app but a Github npm dep is missing from your account so I cannot complete the install. Would you be kind enough to take a look and point me in the right direction?

Sorry Andy,

I deliberately chose not to publish the myHomey layer because I unfortunately discovered that my code had been stolen and then published under someone else’s copyright. When problems arose, I was expected to provide support for an app I wasn’t even familiar with ..😡..

So if you have any issues or requests for changes regarding the WiiM app, feel free to contact me, and I’ll see what I can do.

Hey,

I am looking for a Device Is Online card. As far as I can tell, the app has all of the necessary info to make it work. I have looked into using the Net Scan app to check if it is online but that requires another app and virtual device etc when this app could do it in one go.

My use case is, I turn off/on my WiiM devices via a smart socket. My flow would be turn on socket, wait for WiiM to be online (booted and connected to WiFi), then set volume and preset.

The card would go instead of the Delay:

I have a (presumably) working plan in place via opencode (AI) but I cannot test it obvs

Thank you for your time 🙂

Sorry, that’s exactly the point of flows and apps. You can expand the functionality however you like without having to customize the app.

I would also love a way to activate a group within a flow. Hoping wiim makes this available to external apps!
