@Michael_Fritzsche I did some search and seems whatsapp introduced a way to allow users to exchange messages without knowing each other’s phone numbers.

I need to check how to fix this.

> Since i do authorization to open our front door based on sender number (since i cannot control from which group i catch messages) my flow to order opening the front door by WhatsApp is now broken until we get correct numbers…

Understandable, but nothing i can do about that, This is still a reversed engineered app built by a community developer

Unfortunately, it’s still not catching group messages, and now it’s also unable to send messages. I reconnected the app before testing.

P.S. We could also switch to communicating via Git to avoid cluttering this post with debugging messages.

Rather not, all communication for my apps go via the forum. I like to keep that that way

Group chats are being received again, but they’re still coming through with the wrong number. Hopefully, there’s something in the log now.

@Michael_Fritzsche i see, the unhashed sender is not coming back. I see there are multiple people with the same issue (with the library i use). So we have to wait for an update there ☹

If there’s a way to access the hashed value, I could retrieve it for all relevant users and adjust my filter to use the hash instead of the phone number.

@Michael_Fritzsche you already have it. That’s the +49 number you saw. It’s called a LID.

So instead of +4112341234 it’s something like 49633489679925@lid

And this value is unique for each user? I would assume they’re using something like a GUID to avoid collisions… but alright, I’ll go ahead and update my flow accordingly.

Thank you, and have a great weekend! I really like this integration. I’ve been meaning to dive into Homey app development myself—but first I need to find the time and figure out how to get started with a simple ‘Hello World’ project, alongside my day-to-day development work in a completely different context.

@Michael_Fritzsche yes as far as i see it’s unique per user. If I may suggest something. Duplicate your current flow. Disable it, so when the app is working again as it should you can easily swap your flows 😃

re app development, if you want to start and need tips, feel free to DM me 😉

i was trying to figure out what happened recently. upon reading the recent posts regarding changes this explains it. i suspect its not picking up the number within my flow because it also comes through as the wrong number. i havent been able to confirm this myself. appears you have already picked up that its affecting multiple people. i havent installed the test version yet but is it going to fix/improve at all?

im still able to send whatsapp messages. the flows that are looking at messges being received dont work for me now.
