Seems like I found the correct thread! 🙂 I am migrating from Zipato and to have the ZD2102 external sensor to work is one of the last steps I have to do. So far, everything has gone really smooth, but this issue is blocking me a bit. I realixe, I can pull out the soldering iron and add wires between the Reed relay and the external connector to have it to do almost what I expect, but that would be to cheat as I see it. 🙂 ---

Yes, the official app V2.5.0. The sensor works fine using a magnet. But, when I try to get the external sensor input to work, nothing at all happens. No reaction at all. I have selected “Turn on the external input = Yes” in Advanced Settings. In the old thread I first found, this issue was discussed some year(s) ago. ---

Gosh, that was quick! Nope. At least not yet. I maybe have to wait 3600 seconds for the setting to be active? A sidenote is that the tamper alarm doesn’t work either, nor the battery status. Thos two is of no importance for me, more on the “cosmetic” side. 🙂 ---

Now (after 3600 seconds), the parameter “Turn on the external input” was set to “No” . When I try to set in to “Yes”, I get error message “failed\_to\_set\_Enable\_External\_Switch\_to\_true\_size\_1”. ---

Hey @PeterW most of the time with Z-wave battery devices it’s that the device is in sleep mode.
