It’s actually easier than that. If you want to contribute to the app i’m not the best person to ask, but you can download the app, add the code and use your version of the app instead.
Download the app at Github and follow this tutorial:

> [@\[HOW TO\] CLI install method](https://community.homey.app/t/how-to-cli-install-method/198/146):
>
> Hello Jean-Paul, When all the used sofware is up to date, this does not seem to be a CLI issue. You’ll have to report the errors to the app builder, you can create an issue at his Github page.

Go to drivers/_device name_/driver.compose.json and add the info of your device at “manufacturerName” and “productId”.
This will only work if the device has been added to the app, just not your device code.
You can get those IDs by adding your device ad generic zigbee device and looking at homey developer site

Ah… now I understand. So I’ll do that and in case everything works alright, then I would be keen in proposing my changes / new devices in the related issues that I have already opened on Github, so the official app can benefit from it. Thanks for the tip @calabuta!

Thanks! I hadn’t thought of getting the app from GitHub and adding the device myself.

Then I can also do a pull request after doing the update, right? (I still think this should be called a “push request”, but that is a different matter 🙂 )

So, I first add my device as “generic Zigbee device” (basically what happens if you install a Tuya Zigbee device that is not known in the Tuya Zigbee app yet)
Then I download the app from GitHub, make the adjustments in the .json file
Add the device to the app so the reference in the .json file is actually used (Where/how do I do that?)
Install the custom app on my Homey

Am I missing some steps here?

I would prefer not having to readd the device itself as I have it tucked away somewhere.

You go to [Homey Developer Tools](https://tools.developer.homey.app/tools/zigbee) to get those 2 codes, sadly you have to repair the device after you add the codes to the app.
What you said should be it, it’s pretty straightforward.

Hi Tom,
Why trying to install from CLI, the easiest way is from here

> **[Tuya Zigbee](https://homey.app/nl-nl/app/com.tuya.zigbee/Tuya-Zigbee/test/)**
>
> Control your white label Zigbee devices made by Tuya

You straight install the latest test version from there.
Best regards Peter.

Fixed, In the CLi How To there is the command “npm install -g homey” which did not work for me. no idea why. I’m not a Dev. 🙂

“npm install homey” does work though, the installation went smoothly.

Thank you all.

Hi, is it possible to publish a test version or the final version of the app? I don’t have permission to install software on my work PC, so I can’t download it from GitHub.

Why don’t you download the latest test version (currently v0.2.73) directly on Homey via the App Store: [Tuya Zigbee | Homey](https://homey.app/en-nl/app/com.tuya.zigbee/Tuya-Zigbee/test/) ?

Dear all,

I have a “Smart Tuya Zigbee WIFI Airbox” (Temp., CO2, VOC Hum.) via Ali Express and find no way to integrate it in my Homey Pro via This Tuya Zigbee App. Is there any possibility to connect this sensor via the App?

Thanks in advance and best regards

Nils

Hi Nils,

Did you have the test version or the normal ZigBee app installed, my Airbox is working with the test version.
But I see you mentioning WIFi, do you have a ZigBee or the WiFi version.

Best regards Peter.

Hi Peter,

thanks for the quick response. I have installed Tuya Zigbee Ver. 0.1.45. I think it’s not the test version. My airbox is zigbee. But when I try to connect it, Homey found it as unknown Zigbee device. I used the Button “Teperature & Humidity Sensor” for the try.
