I understand. The catch is that the slider’s direction is tied to what Homey considers open. With Invert position off, the slider would look the way you like, but Homey would take a closed blind for an open one. The open/close button would then send “close” to a blind that’s already closed and nothing would move, and “open” in a flow or by voice would close it. That’s most likely why the button didn’t work before. So Invert position needs to stay on.

I checked with my own shutters (Shelly, a different brand and a different app): at 3%, almost closed, the bar is almost empty there too, exactly like yours. So that’s simply how Homey draws every window covering: the white bar shows how far it’s open. I can’t change that without breaking open/close and flows. Sorry! Your setup is right as it is.

Your logs show the new version working as intended: it no longer asks the plug for anything but its power readings. Yet the plug still accepts every ON/OFF from Homey and doesn’t switch, while it reports Smart Life’s switching to Homey just fine.

You’re doing a fantastic job, thank you very much.

With your app, I was able to switch all my devices to local communication, except for the window/door sensors, one battery-powered switch, and the cameras.

Andi

I’m running 1.273

It updated to this version at 0:28 and immediately did a feed.

I hadn’t set Record Connection start but have just done it and it then did another feed.

Dump from this point 14cafca1-6a29-437d-be3b-d97952f99d67

I restarted the app and did another diagnostic report 9b982505-7ddc-41ef-980d-013ddf181f52

Thanks for your ongoing support

Hi Andi,

How about adding another Flow card for the presence sensor?

My motion sensor automatically re-enables motion detection after 5 minutes when it is in automatic mode, and I have no way to disable this behavior. I’ve already tried using a Flow that turns motion detection off again every 5 minutes, but it doesn’t work reliably.

It would be great if there were a Flow card that would allow me to switch the mode from automatic to manual.

Best regards,
Dietrich

Hi Stephen,

Thanks, the trace you switched on settles it. Each time the app connected to your feeder (after the update, after switching on the trace, and after the restart), a command for one portion went out about 30 ms later, and the feeder logged the feed ten seconds after that. So these are real feeds, sent through Homey. Your earlier ones at 02:11 and 02:15, just after Homey restarted, very likely had the same cause.

The app never feeds on its own. A feed can only reach the feeder through the “Feed now” flow card or the portions picker on the device, and here it arrives right after the app reports “Pet Feeder connected”. That points to a flow that starts when the feeder connects, or on something else that happens at a restart, and ends in a feed.

Could you open the Pet Feeder in the Homey app and look through the flows it is used in? Please check for any that start with “Pet Feeder connected” or another restart-related trigger.

If you find nothing, please update to 1.0.274 as soon as it is out. It writes every feed command to the log, with the way it came in and how soon after connecting. Restart the app once and send me a diagnostic report, and it will show exactly where the feed comes from.

You can switch “Record connection start” off again now; it has done its job.

Kind regards,
Andi

Hi Dietrich,

Good idea, and your sensor already has it: its spec lists DP 51 device\_mode with auto / manual. The app just had no control for it. Version 1.0.275 adds a Mode picker on the device, plus the flow cards Set mode, Mode is … and Mode changed.

After updating, open the sensor’s settings and enter 51 under Mode DP. The tile appears when you save.

About the 5-minute flow: my guess is that it races the sensor’s own timer. If the flow fires just before the sensor switches itself back on, detection stays on for another round.

One thing I can’t tell from here: whether manual mode really keeps detection off. Please let me know once you’ve tried it.

Hello Andi, again quick work 😉

I tested the Mode picker an the device. It works and changes the mode. The mode will stay on but when changing it also sets DP 20 to true. That shouldn’t be.

With the flow guess you are perfectly right.

If Smart Life does **not** switch DP 20 on, I’d like to see what goes out. Update to 1.0.276, switch on _Record connection start_ in the device settings and save (it reconnects). Within 20 seconds, change the mode on the tile. Then send the support bundle; it now contains that recording.

Hi Dietrich,

That’s exactly the part I needed, thanks. It settles it: the app sent one command, {51=“manual”}, and about 0.3 s later the sensor answered on its own with {20=true, 51=“manual”}. So the sensor itself switches DP 20 on whenever it goes to manual; nothing from Homey asks for that.

What does DP 20 do on your device? Does a light or a relay come on? If you’d like to control it, I can add it as an optional switch with flow cards. Then a flow could set manual and switch it straight off again.

And one more thing I’d like to know: in manual mode, does motion detection now stay off once you switch it off?

When DP 20 goes on, the light goes on. That’s ok if the device is on auto but not on manual.

In manual the count down DP 57 is running and the induction sensor DP 56 starts again, but it is ignored because of the mode manual.

I’m trying to add a power strip, but I can only add it as a smart plug. As a result, I’m only able to control a single outlet.

Do you know if there’s a way to access and control the individual outlets separately?

Hi Andi,

I’ve now migrated all of my Tuya Cloud devices to your Local Tuya app. The only device I can’t get working is my curtain switch that controls my roller shutter.

The device is added successfully, but none of the controls work. I noticed that only **DP 1** is available for this device, and I cannot find any additional datapoints for position, state, or control.

Is there a way to identify the correct DP configuration, or could it be that this device is exposing its functions differently?

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,
Stijn
