[App][Pro] Tuya Cloud

I didn’t mean to, I winked as in, we all have been there! Very often the only problem is the PEBKAC :grimacing::wink:

Don’t worry, it was just humour :wink:thank you again to the help :ok_hand:

Hello. I have added my devices and have a couple of questions. I have two LED strips from Deltaco; I can turn them on and off and change their color, but I cannot dim them from Homey. Additionally, the dim level resets to 1% when I change the color. Is there a simple solution for this?

I also have three power plugs with power monitoring. Given that I receive power measurements multiple times per minute, will this exceed the API call quota of 26,000 per month and the message quota of 68,000 per month, potentially causing my devices to stop responding in Homey?

Even if that would be the case, despite limited effort, this would not work. No access to devices, no access to debug logs… and limited availability either on mail nor forum, that’s not working combo. :person_shrugging:

Hi all, until yesterday, I had Tuya Cloud working with my Homey. Today I turned of power, and once running again, Tuya Cloud wouldn’t connect anymore. I’ve tried many things. As of now, I created a new account for the Tuya app and the Tuya developer platform. I’ve gone through the whole process as described, but every time I try to link a device I get the message ‘Please configure the app first’. Any thoughts on how to solve this?

You have to renew the 6 month iot trial period for the original iot developer account.
See post 1 section:

I renewed it a week ago, but I found the issue (caused by my network). The devices are now working again.

Hello Forum,
I’m using v1.1.25 on my HP’23 with several heating & airco devices. Due to renovation and local maintenance, I currently regularly experience unexpected loss of power. When power is restored, everything slowly gets back online, but the Tuya cloud devices are always ‘unavailable’. When I restart the app, they become available again. I’m looking for a way to somehow detect the unavailability-status of these devices.
I can ping them, so checking that doesn’t work. I also tried it with the app Device Capabilities, (when device Tuya cloud airco becomes unavailable) but that doesn’t work either. Possibly because the device is unavailable to begin with (since the booting up of the Homey).
I was hoping someone here has a solution fort my problerm…

Any specific device types ? I was adding online detection to the socket device, it’s available for CLI install on my GitHUB. GitHub - shaarkys/com.tuya.cloud: Connect homey to the Tuya cloud

And Homey is still running during this power outage ? You can still eg. based on power restoration, simply restart the Tuya app.

My airco (Qlima WMS SC(M) 54 (AG)) and a thermostat for the floor heating (Magnum/MRC).

I’ll check it out when I have some free time…

No, it is a total power outage, everything is down. When power is restored, it takes a while before the internet and Wi-Fi are available again. Perhaps this causes the devices to be unavailable. But even when internet access is restored, the devices remain unavailable. I’ve made an advanced flow which starts after a reboot which waits until internet is available again and then restarts the Tuya app, but I do not know yet if it works.

Nope, I didn’t change those drivers, so it’s not worth checking. Diag. logs would say more but that goes to the developer…

That should work indeed as workaround

Hi there,

Just recently bought Meaco Arete Two dehumidifier.

Used the Tuya Cloud app, I’ve connected successfully, but can’t figure out, how can I get the mode via the Homey. Can someone point me to the right direction?
I see the device reported back it’s mode to the Tuya Developer portal

Thanks

hello,

i have a switch/watertemperatuur sensor from alie express to check on the boiler temperatuur.
i can see the temperatuur in te smart life app.
to improve i tried to connect with Homey, but i can only at the sensor as a switch not as a temperatuur/humidity sensor.

what am i doing wrong?

You can use the tap-to-run scenes and / or RAW commands for missing functionality.
It’s all in the 1st post of this topic.

It"s probably not fully supported as complete device.
You can use RAW commands to read sensor data > read 1st post of this topic, please.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick respond, correct me if i am wrong. But the RAW commands are to trigger a flow?

I just want to see the temperatuur data in a grafiek, not for homey to do something with it. But for my own insights so i can learn/see how i can improve my manual setting for the pump speeds.

I already can see a grafiek in the smart live app but it only updates 1 time a houre so its is not verry accuarate.

Correct. For you to pass the temperature value to a virtual device or numeric variable;
With that flow trigger you can then send the changed temperature value to a virtual device, which represents the actual temperature device, and ends up in Insights.
Or,
you can write the temperature value to a numeric variable, this also pops up in Insights.

It’s not possible to send values to Insights directly per flow.

Example, like the top flow on this canvas:

When the temperature value consists of numbers only, you can use this variant:

When..
-tuya cloud numeric message has been received
And..
-deviceID is exactly [tuya device id of temperature sensor] xxxxxxxxxxx
Then..
-set the value of a virtual sensor measure_temperature to [function value]

Or when using a variable, you can do this:
Then..
-set numeric variable Y to [function value]

I think i wil leave it for now, and pick it up again when i am more experienced with building flow’s and used tot the homey controls.

Any updates on this matter?
