@Hugo are homey and your NAS on the same Network?
Does WOL work if you run it from another device? Try to install a app on your phone for example

I will check if WOL works in another way.

Martijn,

I checked, I can wake-up my Synology by ‘WakeOnLanGui’ from Depicus.
But Homey does not wake my Synology.

If it’s not the solution i’ll send you the log.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: That was tgd problem.
My mac-address was gone.
Now it works.

When I checked my Synology NAS today I saw that the last update was 2 months ago. Since editing the password didn’t help I removed the device so I could add it again. Unfortunatly when I try to login on my Synology NAS I get the following error: Something went wrong. Check your login and 2FA (optional). I know these credentials are correct. Tried it with another account as well, which gives the same error.

Here is my diagnostic report:

If you need any more information, I’ll gladly help :).

@daniel3 are Homey and synology in the same network? Seems like Homey can’t reach 192.168.3.10

Hereby the new report: 2f4aa987-786f-4d47-bbc9-d1b1aab83b0c

I already found out that if I disable 2FA for the account, I can login witout issues. It’s only when 2FA is on that I get the error message.

Found the culprit: apperently you need to turn on “Allow users on web browsers to skip 2-factor authentication by trusting devices” withing DSM → Security → Login Settings. If I turn this function on I can login even when I use 2FA.

Bit of a strange problem here:

My NAS and Homey Pro are located in different VLANs, but traffic has been fully enabled between those two devices, with no restrictions for the moment.

The Synology is a DS415+ running DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 7.

When I try to add the device to Homey it works fine using the admin account. However, for obvious security reasons I want to avoid this.

So I created a separate User account, no MFA and Allow permissions for DSM. But this doesn’t seem to work unfortunately… Also enabling MFA didn’t resolve the issue.

Any ideas?

@Kimbo yes. You already said that yourself. It works with a admin account. And that’s the requirement to use synology via a API

@martijnpoppen

Thanks for the quick response! Hmm ok understood.

I used an user account because it was mentioned in an earlier post from you: [[APP][Pro] Synology - #12 by martijnpoppen](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-synology/49744/12) but I guess the API has been changed since?

Any tips on making it a bit safer to use the admin account together with the Synology app?

@Kimbo thats for DSM 6

No this is what it is. If there was a other way I would have said that immediately right 😉
