Everybody will have this issue. There is something wrong with the Solcast servers. It is the same for the Home Assistant users.
Let’s just wait and see

The Solcast API works again.
It works best to get latest data by doing a Midnight update.

@Pieterv123 Thank you for this app. It is really great to have an outlook on solar production. I have a time of use energy tariff with fixed time slots in the day of low and high prices. To be able to load my battery correctly to bridge the high price slots, I would need to be able to forecast my energy production at 5AM for the next 6 hours and at 3PM for the remainder of the day. Is there a way to get the exact forecasted kWh as a tag available in Homey? A kind of “fetch the forecast between starttime and endtime”-card. Would this be possible? Or is it already possible with the cards and tags available and did I overlook it? Or do you see another way to solve my use case?

Thank you in advance!

Yes it is possible.

Check the condition cards. I think solcast has more cards.

And there is a trigger remaining before which has a tag.

Condition cards in homey don’t allow tags, that is a homey limitation

These are the cards I use. You can ask if enough energy is expected to charge your battery. You might find my flow, which I use to manage my batteries, helpful. It is in Dutch. But I think you will figure it out.

if card

Thanks for reaching out and the help. I need to be able to estimate the production 6 hours in advance to charge the battery in advance to bridge the high price period. No dynamic tariff here that changes every hour but high price blocks from several hours - from 7AM to 11AM and 5PM to 10PM. the problem is not to trigger charging when needed (as with the suggested condition cards) but knowing how much to charge or when to stop. So a tag that gives the prediction of the upcoming 6 to 7 hours would be handy. Now Solcast and Forecast.Solar forecast tags only go up to 3 hours. Is there a way to get this out of the forecast app or to calculate it based on the day forecast or remaining forecast?
Thanks again for your help and consideration.

At the moment, that option isn’t available. We have to ask Pieter for that. But I’ve solved it creatively. Calculate how much your battery still needs to charge. Then use this value in a flow chart. That way, you can charge the battery at full power when insufficient sun is expected, and with the PV surplus when enough is expected.

This part of my flow switches the battery back to charging with PV surplus if more energy is expected than is needed to charge the battery.

Hi @Pieterv123,

Thanks for the suggestion. I overlooked the “remaining Fcst”-tag, so my evening use case is now covered. In the morning a “forecast next 6 hours”-tag would come in handy. Is there a way to foresee this in your app?

Thank you very much indeed.

I could make this, but can’t you use the remaining before cutoff time is less then?

Or the same condition card?

So if you need let’s say 3kwh for your house, it will say when it is less and then you charge your battery.

It will also make the remaining before this time available as a tag.

It would be easier with a condition card, but Homey does not support this

Hi Pieter, Thanks for the tips. They inspired me…
I managed to solve my issue to do a kind of iterative request to get an estimate of the production in a specific timeframe and it works. See example below:

 ![Schermafbeelding 2026-04-07 om 16.39.39](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/d/a/da75403aee38c688e1d082860281e6917adcc460.jpeg)

</div>

The actual power of my PV panels is almost twice the “Current Prediction”.
Is that normal or am I interpreting things in a wrong way?

</div>

If it is a cloudy day, that is possible. The forecast is an average for 30min.
Also depends on how often you fetch new data

</div>

Ok, but on a sunny day I would expect the highest predicted value to somehow match the highest production value of the panels. A timeshift would be understandable.
By the way, I am using Forecast.Solar.

Nothing I can do, the app just fetches the data.

Forecast.Solar is less reliable then Solcast.

Of course I can raise the peakpower of the panels. I also changed the orientation of the panels in the app to the most suitable position, but the predicted power never matches the maximum of the measured power. So I was just wondering. 🧐

@Pieterv123 is the Solar Forecast api down? Since last night I’m no longer getting data, api gives error, graph shows everything with 01/01 01.00… have tried restarting the app and rebooting Homey. Solcast still works…

On Solcast app, I only get an API error since september 4th. Direct API call in browser works, so looks like the app is broken. Have the same issue on two different Homeys with different Solcast accounts.
