Hello and thanks for your engagement 🙂

I cant see app is updated at Homey.app, or do I need to do something else?

Hey Odd Inge,

I haven’t made any changes yet. The energy measurement functionality is already there, but it may not be very precise.

Bear in mind that the API provides the absolute value of the maximum power, not the exact power used by the heater. This will always lead to discrepancies.

I’ve taken this up with Mill Norway, so I hope they will provide this feature in the local API with the next firmware update. If this is an issue you consider important, I can bring it up with them again—so speak up. 🙂

Cheers,
Ivelin

Thanks for your reply.

I can wait for new firmware update from Mill 🙂
However, to adjust maximum power, is this feature available in near future?

Hey Odd Inge,

There is a way to set the maximum power of the heater in the app, per device. This applies to all panel heaters, sockets, and radiators.
Check the advanced settings of the device, then go to “Energy.”

Does this work for you?

Hello again

I know about this feature, but this does not work, se attached picture.
However, I meant use of flowchart, allso attached picture.

Hey again,

That’s correct. The actual power cannot be adjusted on any of the Mill panel heaters, as far as I know. At least, it’s not supported by the firmware.
The only Mill product that can do this is the oil radiator, where you can switch between 40%, 60%, and 100% power.
Maybe this is something to bring up with Mill Norway.

Cheers,
Ivelin

Hi. please integrate support for Mill heat pumps. I created a API reference schema if you need. (local control)

Just to confirm: this app does not provide ZigBee drivers, correct?

Sadly the “mill wifi” official app claims to support ZigBee on their gen4 devices but for me their app does not actually work and I’m left with a generic ZigBee device.

So I’m at a dead end for using mill gen4 + ZigBee in homey ☹

Hey D\_a\_n,

That is correct, current support is for direct API over the WiFi interface.
I haven’t heart much from Mill in the past year, but let me try to get hold of a demo equipment that I can test and build this support.
Best regards,

Ivelin

Hey André,

That would be super cool! I need a demo equipment to be able to test the implementation agains.
Let me see if Mill are willing to support this.
Best regards,

Ivelin

The Mill support chatbot seems to acknowledge that the official Mill WifiApp does not yet have Zigbee fingerprints added for gen4 devices. That is strange since their app clearly does list “Gen4 heater (Zigbee)” as a choice in the Add Devices screen.

So it does seem like a gap: the official app doesn’t have it. It would be great if you can add that to the “Mill Heating” app - but that seems like a big addition, since (in my understanding) this app only supports controlling heaters via wifi / API / Mill Cloud, not via Zigbee.

Update: Found the solution for using Mill Gen4 heaters + Homey via
ZigBee. The trick was to use the phone app to first update the
firmware.

I used the “Mill Norway” app (android or iOS) to do a firmware update.
But I did not continue with the pairing process in the app. Instead I
used the “C2b” (connect to zigbee) function in the heater settings
menu, and paired the device to homey using the “Mill Wifi” homey app
(not “Mill Heating”!). Success.

Great to hear, D\_a\_n!
I will then not spend time on ZigBee for the time being.
Have a great weekend!

Do I understand correct that you are using the “Mill Wifi” app to conmect via zigbee??

Correct

Used the phone app to get the new firmware. Then did _not_ pair the heater to the phone app or mill cloud. Instead I used the “Mill Wifi” app in homey and “C2b” menu setting on the heater to pair the heater to homey. The app has a gen4 heaters (ZigBee) device option in the Add Device screen.

Hi.. I am having issues with gen 3 mill oil which has been working fine for a long time.

The toggle for adjusting power 0% 40% 60% 100% keeps turning back to 0% when I change the setting to other than 0%, close the app, and again enter the toggle settings.

The power logging in the app keeps reporting 100% even when the heater is on 40%. Have checked this with the tibber pulse.
