Hi all,

I have a Mitsubishi Ecodan, model ERSC-VM2D and an outside unit, model PUHZ-SHW140YHA.

I followed all instructions installing the Melcloud optimizer app in Homey Pro 2023. But so far I don´t have indications that the optimizer is working. The Mitsubishi is visible in the app but now for several weeks it is waiting for optimization … see the attached status overview. When I push refresh, I receive the message timeout, which probably means that the data are not transferred ? Any suggestions what could be wrong ?

I will release a new version soon with a lot of updates to the saving model so give me a week to finalise this.

I started using the app today. See how this goes. I have a couple of questions;

I set the Horizon to 12h, but will it then see the cheaper nightly hours?

Min setpoint intervall (min)

Anti-short cycling is set to 30min, is that to much? Suggested is 5min. Should I change it? Benefits?

I have released a new version today to test so install that and keep the default for the two values for best savings.

The app did not do new hotwater in the night were we had cheapest prices. Is it possible to have my Ecodan on timer for the hotwater on night loading and let the app do the house heating only?

I have 14.0.68 version, latest?

In the Live model, when will I see some changes? I had been the same since I installed the app.

And it says awaiting first update… what is that?

**Update: version 14.0.83** (test version: [MELCloud Optimizer | Homey](https://homey.app/a/com.melcloud.optimize/test/))

**Hot water fix (new in 14.0.83, important)**

- If your tank dropped below your minimum, some heat pumps did not start a reheat, even when the app raised the target. This happened overnight here: the tank fell from 48 to 40 °C with the target already at the maximum.
- The app now uses forced hot water in that case, which starts the reheat right away, whatever the price. When the tank is back near its target, the app switches forced off again. It never touches a forced run you started yourself.
- Found while fixing this: MELCloud silently ignored the app’s forced hot water, power and operation mode commands. That includes the Hot Water Mode switch on the device. They now work, and every command is checked against MELCloud’s reply.

This update is mostly about making the app easier to set up and run. Most settings now take care of themselves. A new user only needs the MELCloud login, a comfort temperature and the hot water min/max.

**Simpler settings page**

- Set one comfort temperature and how much it may vary. Away and night follow it automatically (2 °C and 1 °C lower), unless you set your own values.
- Time zone, location, currency and the ENTSO-E price zone now come from your Homey. In Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Italy the right price zone is picked from your location.
- The technical settings (stability, price thresholds, steps, log level) are folded under “Fine-tuning” and run on Automatic. Values you have set yourself are kept.
- If there is one heat pump on your MELCloud account, it is selected for you.

**Home / away**

- New option: follow who is home in Homey. Away when everyone has left, home when someone arrives.
- Your existing Flows keep working. If you already use home/away, the app stays on “Always home, unless a Flow or the switch says away”. In presence mode a Flow can still override until the next arrival or departure.

**Prices**

- Enter a Tibber token and the app uses Tibber prices; leave it empty and it uses ENTSO-E. With several Tibber homes, the one nearest your Homey is suggested: check it and press Save.
- ENTSO-E prices now include typical taxes, fees and VAT, so the app plans with what you actually pay. If you enter your own grid fee, it replaces the typical one.

**Fixes and smaller changes**

- Hot water: when the tank drops below your minimum, the reheat now starts reliably and runs to the end.
- A dropped MELCloud connection can no longer stop the device from updating.
- Zone 2 is optimized automatically on heat pumps that have one.
- The tank maximum follows your heat pump’s own limit.

**Homey Energy and the heat pump page**

- The heat pump now shows up in Homey Energy (new “Energy Used (total)” meter). MELCloud only publishes energy per finished day, so during the day the meter follows the compressor. Each night it is corrected to MELCloud’s measured day total, so daily and monthly totals are MELCloud’s own figures. After the first full day, an estimated live power value appears too.
- With a whole-home meter such as Tibber Pulse, the heat pump shows up as part of your total; nothing is counted twice.
- Savings now count only the time the compressor really ran (MELCloud reports “heating” even while the compressor is off between cycles).
- The device page is clearer: old duplicate energy rows are removed, the daily energy rows say they are 7-day averages, hot water and legionella runs are shown as such, and the legionella row shows its status instead of looking like a button.

**Good to know**

- This version asks for access to your Homey’s location (for weather, currency and price zone), so Homey may ask you to approve the update.
- @Ganescha, about your earlier questions: the Horizon setting is gone, and the minimum setpoint interval now runs on Automatic, so there is nothing to set.

Feedback is welcome here or on GitHub.
