MealPlan helps you remember what’s on the menu. Enter meals manually or import a photo of your meal plan using local text recognition.

A single virtual device automatically follows the current day and displays the weekday and dish. You can plan weeks ahead, create separate plans, use dashboard widgets and set up reminders and collection controls with Homey Flows.

The app supports Homey Pro and Homey Self-Hosted Server. No external account or API key is required.

Please share questions, feedback and bug reports here. For issues, include your app version, Homey model and any error message.

## How to use MealPlan

### 1. Create your meal plan

Open **Homey → More → Apps → MealPlan → App settings**.

Choose **Main plan** , or create a separate plan for work, family or another menu. Select a week using **Choose week**. Week numbers and dates are displayed, and you can select up to eight weeks ahead directly.

Choose **Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or Snack** , enter the meals and tap **Save changes**. Optional details include source, category, servings and notes.

### 2. Import a photo

In App settings, expand **Import from photo**.

1. Choose an existing picture or take a photo.

2. Select the language printed on the menu.

3. Choose the layout or rotation if needed.

4. Tap **Read photo**.

5. Check the suggested dishes, target week, meal type and source.

6. Correct mistakes or deselect unwanted meals.

7. Tap **Add selected meals to planner** , then **Save changes**.

Import one week at a time. If a picture contains several weeks, crop it to the relevant week first. Clear pictures with visible weekday headings work best.

Photo recognition runs locally on your phone or computer. No external account or API key is required.

### 3. Add a Meal planner device

Open **Devices → + → MealPlan → Meal planner** and choose your plan and meal type, for example **Main plan · Dinner**.

You only need **one device per plan and meal type**. It automatically changes weekday and dish as the days pass.

The status displays a sentence such as **“Today, Monday: Chicken and rice”**. If another indicator is shown, select **Today’s meal is** as the device’s status indicator.

Device settings let you choose the status language and display today’s, tomorrow’s or yesterday’s meal. Yesterday can be useful for overnight shifts.

### 4. Mark meals as collected

Use **Mark as collected** when you have picked up your meal. Collection status automatically resets for a new day or a changed meal.

Use **Reset collection** if you marked it by mistake.

### 5. Set reminders and create Flows

Expand **Reminders** in App settings. Choose the time, weekdays, meal type and whether the reminder refers to today, tomorrow or yesterday.

Built-in reminders add a notification to Homey’s timeline. For a phone push notification or speaker announcement, use the meal reminder Flow trigger with Homey’s notification or speaker action.

Device Flow cards also support meal changes, pickup reminders and collection status. Meal information is available as Flow tags.

### 6. Add dashboard widgets

Add **Today’s meal** or **Next seven days** to your Homey dashboard.

The widgets display **Main plan**. For additional plans, use their Meal planner devices and device Flow tags.

### Useful extras

Save favourite meal names for quick entry, copy the previous week, or enable weekly repetition. You can also export and import a backup of the selected plan.

Remember to tap **Save changes** after editing your plans.
