Please write to LG and demand an answer to why they don’t make the most important data available in their API. Actual temp is the most crucial data in order to know if the fridge/freezer is working.

Reply from LG:

> We regret to inform you that the refrigerator models currently provided do not support current temperature data.
> The temperatures displayed in the ThinQ App for both the fridge and freezer represent the target temperatures, not the current internal temperatures.
> As a result, we are unable to provide current temperature data for refrigerators through this SDK.
> We sincerely appreciate your interest and valuable feedback.

Thanks Martin! At least you tried.

It amazing how big companies like LG are so successful in hiring totally incompetent people to handle technical support. Where do they find all these people.

You ask a straight question and they answer with something completely irrelevant. It’s like asking a politician a direct question.

If only I had time, I would like to start a public campaign to demand access to the most basic data from our devices.

Hi Martin,

First off thanks again for your work on the app! I’ve noticed an issue with the test version: the allowed speed list of the fan\_speed for AC’s do not actually match the capabilities of the AC. The previous version(s) of the app I was able to set the speeds to unsupported values which would return an error but I could select any of the fan\_speed values (“SLOW”: “1”, “LOW”: “2”, “LOWMID”: “3”, “MID”: “4”, “HIGH”: “5”, “POWER”: “6”, “AUTO”: “8”). This was through a when-card, which uses autocomplete, the enum list on the device itself still allows you to select all the values but it will give you an this model doesn’t support it error.

Which wouldn’t be a problem but the API (I’m guessing) doesn’t give back the correct values - it’s missing quite a few options.

For my wall AC models the profile (from the settings menu) indicates airFlow.windStrength.values.r:

_“POWER”, “LOW”, “AUTO”, “MID”, “HIGH”_

While the actual supported values (which were working before) are:

_“AUTO”, “LOW”, “LOWMID”, “MID”, “HIGH”, “POWER”_

And for the console AC models it says:

_“HIGH”, “LOW”, “AUTO”, “MID”_

While it should be:

_“AUTO”, “SLOW”, “LOW”, “MID”, “HIGH”_

Another issue I noticed is that for the console AC models the vertical direction (vstep) doesn’t autocomplete in the action card. So I’m unable to select anything even though in the profile the wall AC and console AC have the identical vstep data. Unlike the fan speed setting I don’t see any values for it in the profile.

One solution might be to just allow any of the values to be set regardless of what the model profile reports.

These are modelUrls, if that’s of any help. If there is anything I can test or give more info on please let me know.

Suddenly the application became unavailable on my Homey Pro. It is shown in the store, and install makes it visible in the list of the installed applications, but application’s device is marked unavailable because of no application available.
