I just started using this App and it’s really excellent. I have already use it in several flow.

However, I’m not sure how to configure a set. How do I specify which parameters/booleans are part of a set. Could you help me to figure this. Thanks

I have read the manuel and set look really promising and can ba use on some of my flow. but I do not see how I can indicateur which Boolean are part of a set.

@Carole_C Just by using flow cards. You can place multiple states in a set and that should automatically be grouped together.

Hello BasMilius, Is it possible to create a “Start/Refresh Timer” card instead of a “Stop Timer” and “Start Timer”? Especially with very short timers, it doesn’t always seem to work properly.

@Anders_Gregow At the moment nothing in FlowBits works this way and I’m not sure if I should support it, because all code assumes that something exists…

What is your usecase?

</div>

It is not a huge issue.

I have two robot lawnmowers and as their notification system needs improvement (nicely said) I had to make a flow to be notified if they got stuck, by setting states in a Set for different received notifications (started, paused, recharging, ..).
So I got two identical flows, only the Sets name differs. 🙂
That is way I thought maybe only have one flow and use a variable to change the Set.

## FlowBits 1.19.4

- All set related flow cards have been updated to only show states within the selected set. If no set is selected yet, all states are shown.
- Updated dependencies.

Besides the app, the documentation website [flowbits.nl](https://flowbits.nl) has been updated to serve markdown files to LLMs and AI Agents.

Can states belong to more than one Set?
I have two sets that uses the same states (two lawnmowers).
Will the upgrade break the flow?

I have not yet upgraded to latest app version.

@Anders_Gregow Yep, states are tracked per set, mowing in Mower A and mowing in Mower B are totally separate, so using the same states for both mowers works fine.

And no worries about the upgrade: it only changes what shows up in the dropdown while editing a flow (now it shows just the states for the set you picked). Your existing flows keep their settings and run exactly the same. Safe to update. 🙂

Hi, @BasMilius Im testing this flow for No repeat, and it works the 1 time, but then if the contact sensor triggers let say at around 2minutes it reset the card timer and it wont trigger at the 5 min mark. The contact sensor has to stay close for a full 5 minutes for the flow to trigger the sound again.

![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/optimized/3X/6/a/6a17a0427e94343fe2e6330815fa1b2e99bde78a_2_690x50.png)

The only way is working is this way with the 5 minutes delay and the reset no repeat card.

![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/optimized/3X/d/f/df82998c3a976b72e1434d1f04d370d42111e934_2_690x33.png)

this way, even if the contact sensors trigger at 4minutes the card would still trigger after 5 minutes.

When I created the Variable **contact** for the number i use **1** , dont know if the number here makes a difference.

not sure if im doing something wrong or if I misunderstood the cards, let me know,

Thank you!

Hi Bas

I love this app and use it extensively. I love the Modes feature but I love it so much, I’d like to use it for more than one thing. Hence I’d like to propose a new feature called ‘Mode sets’ which would work a bit like a mash-up between the existing ‘Modes’ and ‘Sets’ features. In practice, this is near identical to the existing Modes feature but with the ability to group Modes into Mode sets so that they can be used for lots of different applications.

Thank you for considering this addition to your awesome app!

Jon

## Mode Sets

Mode Sets let you define sets of named states (modes) that describe how a particular aspect of your home should behave.
Modes are ideal for representing household situations that influence multiple automations at once.
You can use different Mode Sets for different aspects of home behaviour such as a House State set with modes such as _Home_, _Away_, _Night_ and a Lighting mode set with modes such as _Sleeping_, _Evening_, _Daytime_.

## How it works

Within each mode set, only one mode can be active at a time. Activating a mode within a mode set deactivates all other modes in that mode set.
Mode sets are useful for:

- Adjusting lighting, heating, or notifications based on context
- Creating consistent behavior across different rooms
- Simplifying complex logic by grouping conditions under a single name
- Making your automations easier to understand and maintain
Modes are not tied to any specific device. They represent the state of your home as a whole.

## Flow cards

Wherever a ‘Mode set’ parameter is specified in the following cards, this works exactly the same as the other card parameters throughout the app - i.e. you can enter a new value or select an existing one.

### Actions

All work exactly the same as the equivalent existing triggers, except that the action card has an additional ‘Mode set’ parameter.

- Activate Mode in Mode Set
- Activate Mode in Mode Set for Duration
- Deactivate Mode in Mode Set
- Reactivate Mode in Mode Set
- Reactivate current mode in Mode Set

### Conditions

All work exactly the same as the equivalent existing triggers, except that the condition card has an additional ‘Mode set’ parameter.

- Mode is active in Mode Set
- Mode is active in Mode Set for at least Duration
- Mode is inactive in Mode Set for at least Duration

### Triggers

All work exactly the same as the equivalent existing triggers, except that the trigger card also has a Mode set parameter.

- Mode is activated in Mode Set
- Mode is deactivated in Mode Set
- Mode is changed in Mode Set

### Widgets

- Mode set current mode
  - Works exactly the same as the existing ‘Current mode’ widget except that it’s scoped to a specified mode set (via a widget setting)

- Mode sets
  - Works exactly the same as the existing ‘Modes’ widget except that it’s scoped to a specified mode set (via a widget setting)

## FlowBits 1.20.0

Modes now live in groups. A “House state” group with Home, Away and Night can run next to a “Lighting” group with Daytime, Evening and Sleeping, without the two getting in each other’s way. Your existing modes move into a default group on first start and every card you already use keeps working. The 15 new mode group cards take a group alongside the mode. Thanks to @Jonathan_Draper for proposing this and for the groundwork.

What else changed:

- Flag and mode expirations are stored on disk, so a pending deactivation survives an app restart. If the moment passed while Homey was down, it is handled on startup.
- New action: activate a flag until a given date and time.
- New action: activate a mode for a duration, then restore the mode that was active before instead of leaving none.
- The mode changed trigger now also fires for the mode that is switched away from. Before, only an explicit deactivate triggered it.
- Tapping a mode on the dashboard works on the first tap. The modes and flags widgets no longer drift out of sync with the app, and a failed tap rolls back instead of leaving the wrong state on screen.
- Timers survive a restart, no longer fire early on durations over 24.8 days, and pausing twice no longer eats the remaining time.
- Flow card statistics moved into their own screen, behind a button on the settings page. The counters stay where they were.
- The settings page loads in the Homey app on iOS again.
