I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the beta option needed to be confirmed in the ecoflow.
But I can’t find such an option or where I read it

**Hi Justin,**

I’m testing the EcoFlow STREAM Series app with a **STREAM AC 5000 (ES22)** on a **Homey Pro Early 2023**.

I’m currently running:

- EcoFlow STREAM Series test version **1.10.17**
- Homey OS **13.5.0**

In the app settings I have enabled **“ENABLE STREAM 5000 BETA PAIRING”** , and the settings page confirms:

**“Beta pairing enabled. You can now add a STREAM 5000 Beta device.”**

However, when I go to **Add device → EcoFlow STREAM Series** , the two 5000 beta drivers do not appear.

I only see:
Smart Meter, STREAM Solar, STREAM Micro Inverter, STREAM Smart Plug, STREAM Home Battery and STREAM Unit.

Searching for **“5000”** also returns **“No results.”**

I have already restarted the EcoFlow Homey app and completely rebooted my Homey Pro. The beta setting remains enabled, but the beta devices still don’t appear.

Could you please advise how I can make **“STREAM Home Battery (5000 Beta)”** and **“STREAM 5000 Series Unit (Beta)”** appear in the device picker?

Thanks!

I had to remove mine and add it. I actually see two options and have to choose of the 'Stream Home Battery (5000 Beta). The other one doesn’t seem to be recognized as a battery by homey.

Not sure why you wouldn’t see the other option.

But unfortunately it seems a bit quiet here, which is a pity as the new batteries are now delivered and I would really love Homey to control it. I did understand that the Stream system has different communication and will get an API in time.

Hi everyone, particularly @Ed_van_der_Stelt and @Ronald3,

Firstly, apologies for the silence and slow follow-up. I’ve now caught up with the feedback, including the missing beta-device options, pairing difficulties and requests for more complete control.

I deliberately slowed development of the STREAM 5000 integration because the API and documentation were unclear, and I didn’t have physical hardware to validate against. Much of the initial beta relied on observed telemetry and community testing. I didn’t want to keep changing everyone’s setup without a clearer understanding of how EcoFlow intended it to work.

My corporate role also changed during this period, which brought additional pressure and stress and reduced the time I could dedicate to the app.

I still haven’t received my STREAM 5000 hardware, so hands-on testing remains a limitation. However, I’m working on it again, reviewing the available API documentation, newer findings from other developers and your feedback. The first focus is getting monitoring, battery percentages and Homey Energy accounting reliable before expanding controls. I also have crash reports to investigate.

Ed, I haven’t forgotten the missing-driver issue. The drivers are present in the current code, but that doesn’t explain why they aren’t appearing for you—I’m treating that as a separate investigation.

A huge thank you to @Patrick_85 and everyone who has offered screenshots, diagnostics and testing. That support makes development without the hardware possible.

Please expect further updates as the work is validated. I’ll be clear about what has been tested, what remains experimental and whether any setup changes are necessary.

Apologies again, and thank you for your patience.

Cheers,
JZ

Hi everyone,

I’ve published v1.10.18 (build 33) to the Test channel:

[Install the Test version](https://homey.app/a/uk.co.zarb.ecoflow/test/)

The production version hasn’t changed.

I’m picking development back up and have been working through the feedback, submitted logs and available EcoFlow documentation. I’ve also compared notes with other community implementations. I still don’t have my own 5000-series hardware, which limits what I can check myself.

For this update, I’ve concentrated on the readings and energy accounting:

- Separating the installation’s battery percentage from each individual battery’s percentage.
- Correcting how some battery and power-flow readings are interpreted.
- Improving how charged/discharged totals are saved and restored, including around restarts and connection gaps.
- Preventing older responses from overwriting newer readings.
- Adding clearer pairing instructions and a “Show support report” option in the Homey integration’s settings.

One change you may notice: if the app cannot reliably determine whether an individual unit is charging or discharging, its power reading will be unavailable. Previously, it could show the installation’s total as though it belonged to that unit.

You shouldn’t need to delete or re-pair existing devices for this update. The Home Battery is still the device used by Homey Energy. Individual units are optional monitors and remain excluded from Energy to avoid counting the same power twice.

I’ve also reviewed the reports submitted through Homey’s crash/diagnostics page. Some show API, connection or pairing errors without evidence that the app itself crashed. The missing 5000-series pairing choices and unexpected Energy calculations are still being investigated; I’m not marking those as fixed yet.

The next work is:

1. Check this build on real installations, comparing charging, discharging and energy totals with EcoFlow. That includes restart/reconnection checks, longer-running tests and reproducing the reported pairing and Energy issues.
2. Work out how linked batteries from different generations appear in the API. I’d like Homey to follow EcoFlow’s system view, but I need to establish which readings already include both generations before combining anything.
3. Investigate the other models, PV readings, expansion batteries and gateways. In particular, expansion capacity needs to be represented without counting it twice.
4. Review the existing original-STREAM Flows for tariff and solar-surplus charging, then investigate 5000 controls and related widgets. The 5000 integration will remain read-only until I can verify the commands, limits and actual device response.

The mixed-generation question is probably the biggest design decision ahead. My preference is one Home Battery per EcoFlow installation, with individual battery views available if wanted. Separate installations should stay separate, even if they share an account. This build doesn’t automatically merge any existing Home Batteries.

If you already have original STREAM and 5000-series batteries linked in EcoFlow, could you share how the battery percentage is presented? Do you see one combined percentage, separate percentages, or a combined overview with individual readings underneath? Screenshots of the overview and individual battery pages taken around the same time would help.

Please don’t link or unlink batteries just for testing, as EcoFlow’s process may affect system history.

For other issues, please include the installed app version, Homey and mobile-app versions, screenshots and a diagnostic report. If an Energy reading looks wrong, the values, units and time interval are especially useful. Please redact personal details and full serial numbers before sharing.

Parts of the 5000 integration still rely on observed app behaviour and community findings where the API documentation is incomplete. The beta design may change as we learn more.

Thanks for your patience. If you try this build, let me know how it behaves on your setup.

Cheers,
JZ

Hi all,

I’ve published v1.10.19 to the test channel today:

[Install the test version](https://homey.app/a/uk.co.zarb.ecoflow/test/)

I’ve been going back through the API documentation, other developers’ implementations and the diagnostic reports submitted here. This build includes a few changes from that work:

- Added beta monitoring for the PV-equipped STREAM 5000 (ES21), alongside the existing STREAM AC 5000 (ES22). This covers the core battery readings, but still needs testing on a real Homey installation. Separate solar-string readings and 5000 controls aren’t enabled yet.
- Fixed some shutdown and restart handling where background work could continue after the connection was being closed.
- Added checks around the original STREAM control commands. The app now reads back the reported settings instead of assuming a successful API response means the change applied. That still doesn’t guarantee a particular charging or export power, as EcoFlow’s own modes and schedules affect it.
- Extended the support report to help investigate linked batteries and the newer products. It doesn’t automatically group devices or assume that every battery on an account belongs to the same installation.

There is one change worth checking if you use electricity-price Flows: price conditions now stop with an error if no price has been supplied, or if it’s more than 90 minutes old. Please update the current price at least hourly and after restarting the app.

The Homey Energy setup hasn’t changed. STREAM Home Battery provides the installation’s battery power and charged/discharged totals. The individual unit is an optional monitor and stays out of Homey Energy to avoid counting the same battery twice. You shouldn’t need to delete or re-pair existing devices for this update.

The biggest question for me is still mixed-generation installations. If you have an original STREAM battery and a 5000-series battery linked in EcoFlow, I’d really like to see how the EcoFlow app presents them. Does it show one combined percentage and capacity, separate batteries, or both? Screenshots of the system overview and individual battery pages would help.

I’m also looking for information from anyone using an Expansion Battery 5000 or 3000, a STREAM Gateway, Dual CT meter, or a standalone STREAM 3000. Those aren’t newly supported in this build. I need to understand what the API actually exposes and whether their readings are already included in the host battery’s totals.

Next I want to check this build through charging, discharging, reconnects and restarts, then work through the reported missing-device-picker and Energy discrepancies. Mixed-generation aggregation and 5000 controls will follow once there’s enough evidence to implement them properly.

If you try it, please include your app version and battery model with any feedback. For anything that looks wrong, roughly time-matched Homey and EcoFlow screenshots plus a diagnostic report would be useful. Please hide serial numbers and account details before sharing screenshots.

Cheers,
JZ

[Feature Request] ES22 / STREAM AC 5000 – limit battery charging power

Hi Justin,

first of all, thanks for the STREAM integration. I’m using the current beta version with a **STREAM AC 5000 (ES22)** together with two other STREAM batteries in one EcoFlow system.

I have a feature request concerning the **charging power of the battery system**.

When there is sufficient PV surplus, the EcoFlow system automatically charges the batteries with up to approximately **4 kW total**. The AC 5000 itself can charge at up to **2.5 kW**.

I would like to be able to **set a maximum charging power in watts** , for example:

- 1,500 W
- 2,000 W
- 2,500 W
- or another user-defined value.

The existing **“Charge limit” (SOC %)** does not solve this problem. It only defines the maximum state of charge, but it does not limit the charging power.

### Why this is important

I have another battery system in the house (Fronius GEN24 + BYD). I want to coordinate both systems so that the EcoFlow system does not consume the entire PV surplus before the BYD can use it.

Ideally, Homey should be able to control something like:

**STREAM Verbund → Maximum charging power = X watts**

or, even better, for the **ES22 / AC 5000** :

**Set maximum battery charging power = X W**

I found that other integrations for the ES22 already expose parameters such as **Scheduled Charge Power** and **Max Grid Input Power**. So it seems that the AC 5000 technically supports power setpoints/limits.

Would it be possible to expose a **charging-power limit/setpoint for the ES22 / STREAM Verbund** in the Homey app?

This would make the STREAM integration much more useful for systems where EcoFlow is operated together with another home battery.

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Following today’s v1.10.19 update, I’ve published another test version, **v1.10.21** :

> **[EcoFlow STREAM Series | Homey](https://homey.app/en-us/app/uk.co.zarb.ecoflow/EcoFlow-STREAM-Series/test/)**
>
> Turn balcony sunlight into smarter home energy

@Robert_Greiner, thanks for explaining your setup and what you’re trying to achieve alongside the Fronius/BYD battery. You’re right that a charge limit in percent and a charging-power limit in watts solve different problems.

I’ve been investigating the available power settings. The important distinction is whether a setting limits grid input, scheduled charging, or charging across the complete linked battery system. I don’t want to offer a “maximum charging power” setting that actually controls only one part of it.

**This build doesn’t add 5000 charging controls yet.** It adds read-only configuration information to **Show support report** , which should help us understand what EcoFlow exposes on different installations. Where those values are received, the report can now include power limits, operating mode, reserve settings, charge/discharge percentage limits and schedules. It also shows how recently each value was received.

There’s also a correction to battery accounting when power is supplied to the backup socket. That discharge should now be included in the Home Battery’s live power and future discharged-energy totals, without being counted as grid export. It won’t recover energy missed before this update.

You don’t need to delete or re-pair anything. Existing devices and saved counters are preserved. STREAM Home Battery remains the device used by Homey Energy; the individual unit is an optional monitor and stays excluded to prevent double counting.

If you try this version, roughly time-matched EcoFlow and Homey screenshots would help, particularly while charging, discharging or supplying the backup socket. Please include your battery model, app version and a fresh diagnostic report if something looks wrong. Check reports before sharing them, as schedules can reveal household activity, and hide account details and serial numbers in screenshots.

Robert, your installation is also useful for the mixed-generation question. When you say the AC 5000 and two other STREAM batteries are in one EcoFlow system, which models are the other two? Does EcoFlow show one combined battery percentage and capacity, with individual readings underneath, or separate battery totals?

Next I’ll focus on checking these readings on real installations and investigating charging-power controls. Understanding which settings belong to the AC 5000 and which apply to the combined system is a key part of that work. I still don’t have my own 5000-series hardware, so I can investigate the connection and code, but I need owner feedback to verify what the batteries actually do.

The production version hasn’t changed.

Cheers,
JZ

Thanks JZ. The main goal of my setup is to give the Fronius/BYD battery charging priority over the EcoFlow STREAM system.

The desired logic is:
If the BYD battery is below 98%, the EcoFlow STREAM should not charge.
Once the BYD reaches 98%, the STREAM may start charging from the remaining solar surplus.

Conversely, if the STREAM is charging, I want to prevent the BYD from discharging, and vice versa, to avoid the two battery systems charging/discharging against each other (“energy tourism”).

My STREAM system consists of the AC 5000 and two additional STREAM batteries. They appear as one combined STREAM battery system in EcoFlow/Homey.

I can provide screenshots and a fresh diagnostic report from the test version if that helps.

Hi everyone,

Another test update is now available: v1.10.22.

> **[EcoFlow STREAM Series | Homey](https://homey.app/en-us/app/uk.co.zarb.ecoflow/EcoFlow-STREAM-Series/test/)**
>
> Turn balcony sunlight into smarter home energy

I’ve been checking the official API documentation and making read-only calls against my own original STREAM installation, as well as working through the battery readings and connection handling.

For the 5000 series, this build adds read-only mode, reserve and power-limit information to the device page where EcoFlow supplies it, plus Flow conditions for mode and reserve status. It also improves handling of stale readings after a disconnect or restart. Old values should not keep appearing as current just because another reading is still arriving.

There’s also individual solar-input and backup-socket monitoring where those readings are available. These belong to the reporting physical unit; they aren’t copied across the other batteries.

For the original STREAM devices, I’ve corrected the separation between the combined Home Battery and individual units. An installation’s battery percentage or power should not be passed off as an individual battery reading. If EcoFlow doesn’t provide a true per-unit reading, that value will now stay unknown. Socket controls also follow the model’s supported socket layout, and the app checks readback rather than immediately assuming a command worked.

There are further fixes around connection recovery, daily history and energy counting across gaps in the data. Existing pairings and saved counters are preserved, so please don’t remove or re-pair devices for this update. If you have Flows using socket controls on a STREAM Max, AC or unidentified model, please check them after updating.

STREAM Home Battery still supplies Homey Energy. The individual unit remains an optional monitor and is excluded from Energy to avoid double counting. This build does not enable 5000-series charging controls or automatically combine different generations. Production is unchanged.

Next I need to compare this with real installations, particularly linked batteries from different generations, and establish which charging settings affect one unit versus the whole system. I still don’t have my own 5000-series hardware.

If anything looks wrong, please send your model and app version, roughly time-matched EcoFlow/Homey screenshots and a fresh diagnostic report. Please hide account details and serial numbers, and check reports before sharing them.

I am still pending my two Stream 5000 series devices, and wondering if i also buy the two STREAM Expansion Battery 5000 to test also. Honestly, electricity prices in the UK are a bit crazy so trying to figure ways to manage things better 🙂

Cheers,
JZ

Hi @Robert_Greiner,

Thanks, that makes the priority you’re aiming for much clearer: let the Fronius/BYD charge first, then let STREAM use the remaining solar surplus, without the two systems charging from each other.

The screenshots and a fresh diagnostic report from v1.10.22 would definitely help. Could you confirm the exact models of the two other STREAM batteries, and send the EcoFlow combined-system screen showing battery percentage and capacity, alongside the individual battery pages?

Also, how are you connecting Fronius/BYD to Homey? Can you currently see the BYD percentage, charging/discharging power and grid import/export there? Do you have any charging controls available?

I’ve started preparing the coordination logic, but it isn’t controlling the batteries yet. The part I still need to verify is how to reliably stop or limit STREAM charging across the whole linked system, without conflicting with either system’s existing automation. A grid-input limit alone may not achieve that.

Please hide account details and serial numbers, and review diagnostics before sharing them. No need to remove or re-pair anything.

Cheers,

I’ve been following the discussion and find this topic very interesting. I own an EcoFlow STREAM AC 5000 and have set up the app. I’ve noticed that when creating a flow, I only have the option to set up “IF” and “AND” conditions, but a “THEN” action isn’t available.

I haven’t read through everything, so I might have overlooked something. I have a fixed 20 kWh battery and the 5 kWh EcoFlow STREAM AC 5000. As you can probably guess, I want the EcoFlow to start charging only when my other battery is full, and I don’t want my fixed battery to drain in order to charge the EcoFlow. This usually involves a lot of work, but I was hoping to achieve it using this Homey app.

Could someone provide some information or advice on how to go about this? Thanks in advance!

_ **I think I just quickly gathered—since it’s in bold—that “THEN” can’t be used yet?** _

Hi @EdNL,

Thanks for explaining your setup. I can see why you’d want the main battery to charge first, without it then discharging into the STREAM.

I’ve looked further into this, and another developer has demonstrated a working charging-input limit on the AC 5000 through EcoFlow’s app connection. That gives us something useful to investigate. However, I haven’t yet found confirmation that setting it to zero reliably stops charging, then restoring it resumes charging in every operating mode.

There’s also a distinction between controlling the STREAM and knowing when it should charge. To avoid transferring energy from your main battery, Homey would ideally need to know that battery’s charge level and whether it is charging or discharging—not just the reading at the electricity meter.

What make/model is your main battery, and is it already connected to Homey? If so, what readings and controls does its integration provide? Also, is your AC 5000 linked to a smart meter, and which operating mode are you using in EcoFlow?

Those details would help me work out whether we can offer useful Flow cards for your setup. I’d start with an experimental charging limit and verify its behaviour before attempting automatic battery priority.

I still don’t have my own 5000-series hardware, so I’ll need help testing this. If you’re happy to participate, we can agree a small test once the control is ready.

Cheers
JZ

I send a Diagnose Report

be6010db-b6f2-4c88-a588-3d4e4efe638c

Hi JZ,

thanks for your detailed response. I have now installed the experimental v1.10.22 build and also sent a fresh diagnostic report.

Here is the information about my setup:

EcoFlow STREAM system

The three batteries are linked together in one EcoFlow system:

- STREAM AC 5000 – 5.0 kWh
- STREAM Ultra – 1.92 kWh
- STREAM AC Pro (STREAM AC Keller) – 1.92 kWh
- Total STREAM battery capacity: 8.84 kWh

The EcoFlow combined-system screen shows a System SOC and the individual battery SOCs underneath. For example, one screenshot showed:

- System SOC: 98%
- AC 5000: 100%
- STREAM Ultra: 97%
- STREAM AC Keller: 97%

I have attached/sent the corresponding screenshots.

There is an interesting issue with the new Homey version, however. In v1.10.22 the individual STREAM devices currently show approximately:

- AC 5000: 100%
- AC Keller: 97%
- STREAM Ultra: 96%

but the STREAM Verbund device shows 0%.

This is clearly not the real combined SOC. The EcoFlow app shows the combined system at around 98%.

I also previously compared the live power values at the same time. The EcoFlow app showed approximately:

- Solar: 172 W
- Battery charging: 168 W
- Grid export: 4 W

while the Homey STREAM Verbund showed 0 W for solar, battery flow and grid flow.

So there appears to be an issue with the live values and/or the combined STREAM device in the Homey app.

Fronius/BYD

The other battery is a BYD HVS 7.7 kWh, connected to a Fronius GEN24 8.0.

Homey can currently read the BYD values. The Fronius Battery device provides:

- Battery SOC
- Battery power in watts
- Battery charging/discharging state
- Grid import/export
- Battery charging/discharging thresholds

It also provides several control functions, including:

- Solar mode – allow charge and discharge
- Pause – solar charging only, no discharge
- Sell solar – allow discharge, block charging
- Charge at least / at most X W
- Discharge at least / at most X W
- Start/stop limited charging
- Production/export limits
- Auto zero export
- Peak shaving

So the Fronius/BYD side gives us quite good control possibilities.

The goal

My desired priority is:

Solar → household consumption → BYD → STREAM

In other words, as long as the BYD is below approximately 98% SOC, the BYD should have priority for available solar surplus. The STREAM should only charge from remaining surplus after the BYD has reached 98%.

At the same time, I want to prevent the two battery systems from charging/discharging against each other.

For example:

- If BYD is charging, STREAM should not charge from the BYD through the AC grid.
- If STREAM is charging, BYD should not discharge to supply the STREAM.
- If one system is discharging, the other system should not start charging from that energy.

The main problem is therefore not simply grid import limitation. We need coordination between the two battery systems.

I think the new information about the 0% STREAM Verbund SOC and the missing live power values in Homey is particularly important. It may explain why reliable coordination is currently difficult.

Thanks again for working on this. I hope the diagnostic report and screenshots help you identify what EcoFlow is actually exposing for the combined system and what Homey is currently receiving.

Cheers,
Robert

Hi @Zarbie

It is true that the EcoFlow app allows you to adjust the charging limit. I’ve currently set it to a discharge limit of 10% and a charge limit of 80%. That’s great, of course, but it would be even better if I could use a flow to specify that the EcoFlow should only start charging once the other battery is full. I can do a lot manually, but I really want it to happen automatically 😉 As for whether the stopping mechanism is reliable—I can confirm that it is. I adjusted the charge limit—it was originally at 100% and is now at 80%—and it handled that perfectly, stopping the charge immediately.

My main home battery (a stationary unit) is a Solis inverter with an attached battery system. It’s connected to Homey via the Solis app, allowing me to monitor quite a bit of data. I’ll show you exactly what I can see in a screenshot.

I have certainly linked my AC5000 to my smart meter (EcoFlow’s own P1 meter). I currently have the operating mode set to AI-Mode+, hoping it will recognize the presence of other power sources (that’s my hope, anyway; I have no idea if it actually works).

As I mentioned, I’d like to use IF/THEN logic, but I’ve noticed that isn’t working right now. It would be ideal if the EcoFlow could start charging once my Solis battery is full. And conversely, if my energy provider wants us to sell power from the Solis battery at a high rate, I don’t want the EcoFlow to be topping up the Solis battery at the same time. This can certainly be set up via a flow by monitoring values as they drop or rise. I might be oversimplifying things, but I hope something like this is feasible and that others would benefit from it too.

I think Robert wants pretty much the same thing, but with a different extra battery.

Hi @Robert_Greiner and @EdNL,

Thanks both. The priority you’re describing makes sense: charge the main battery first, then the STREAM batteries, without one battery unnecessarily charging the other.

Robert, I’ve found your diagnostic report. Your EcoFlow screenshots show the batteries combined into one system, but Homey’s combined device showing 0% and zero power clearly needs investigating.

Could you confirm which Home Battery option you selected when pairing, and whether you linked the different generations in EcoFlow before or after adding it to Homey? Please also send the **Show support report** from the EcoFlow app settings, checking it for private information before sharing. I can’t see the screenshot attachments in your post, so uploading those again would help. Please leave the devices paired for now.

Ed, lowering the charge ceiling to 80% and seeing charging stop is useful information. It gives us something specific to investigate, although it isn’t quite the same as pausing charging: charging could resume once the percentage drops below that ceiling. Before exposing this through Homey, I need to check that we can change it, preserve your discharge limit and reliably restore the previous setting.

Could you also share the Solis screenshot you mentioned, particularly the battery readings and controls available through its Homey integration?

If you’d prefer to send screenshots or further information by direct message, please feel free—especially anything you’d rather not share publicly. Please don’t send passwords, API keys or tokens.

I’ll tackle the combined readings first, then the charging controls. My preference is to provide Flow actions you can use alongside your existing Fronius or Solis integration, rather than build around assumptions about what EcoFlow’s AI mode knows about another battery.

I still don’t have the 5000-series hardware here, but I’m now waiting for two STREAM 5000 units, two expansion batteries and a new power meter. Once they arrive, I’ll be able to test much more of this myself rather than relying on screenshots and diagnostics.

Honestly, I wish they were here already! It would also be great to work with EcoFlow on testing this earlier. Clearly I need to start a YouTube channel and become an influencer first—or make friends with Arne Herkelmann! 😄

Cheers
JZ
