Not sure on what exact settings you need for the Eastrom SDM630, but the baud rate seems a bit high, I suggest starting with 9600 and see what happens.

Also, I see port 26 and 23 used, did you set those values? I would expect to see 502 there.

These are my settings for a similar waveshare device connected to a Growatt inverter:

> [@\[APP\]\[Pro\] SolarEdge + Growatt TCP modbus](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-solaredge-growatt-tcp-modbus/45487/1579):

I connected both my Growatt 3000TL3-S inverters to the module and after some fiddling on the Inverters (Giving each a unique ID) and in the module’s settings I got it working! Here the settings that work for me: I made the following changes that differ with de module’s default settings: Network Settings Device Port, set it to 502 IP Mode, switched it …

(Suggestion: set the IP type to DHCP and add a reservation to your router if possible)

Thanks @DaneedeKruyff, not yet successful… changed baud rate, port (router is limited with these settings)also changed work mode:

Well, let’s take a closer look. What are the other options/combinations for Work mode?

Ok, TCP Server with Modbus TCP seems the right combintion to me, but what I only see just now in your screenshot, you’re using port 520 instead of 502.

Could you change that and try again?

good catch, but also not fixed it …Feel like a newbie here on this matter 🐵

Is there a way to see if the data is flowing, access in other mac tool or so?

Hi! Are there any ambitions to support Eastron SDM630 Modbus TCP?

From my understanding there is no need for a TCP gateway for this as it is already directly connected to the local network. I am still a novice in this area so I am eager to hear from you.

Hi Mathias, Yes, the “SDM630 Modbus TCP” should be able to connect directly with Homey using the Eastron App, I haven’t been able to test or check registers. I you have one test or sent the register list.

 Type: Ethernet

 Protocol: Modbus-TCP

 Modbus address range: 1-247

 IP: 192.168.1.200 (default)

 Port: 502

Hi Wout, this is what I found, hope it helps.

1. Hardware Connection

- **Eastron SDM (RS485):** Connect the A/T+ and B/T- terminals of the meter to the corresponding RS485 terminals on the converter.

- **Grounding:** While RS485 can work without ground, it is recommended to connect the GND terminal of the meter to the converter for stability.

- **Ethernet:** Connect the Converter to your network switch or router using a standard RJ45 cable.

- **Power:** Power the converter (usually 6–36V) and ensure the Eastron meter is powered by the mains.

2. Converter Configuration (Web Interface)

Connect the converter to your network, find its IP address (default is often `192.168.11.121` or similar), and enter it into a web browser.

- **Work Mode:** TCP Server.

- **Protocol:** Modbus TCP to RTU (if available) or Transparent Transmission.

- **Baud Rate:** 9600 bps (default for most Eastron meters).

- **Data Bits:** 8.

- **Parity:** None (or Even, depending on your meter’s setting).

- **Stop Bits:** 1.

- **Local Port:** 502 (standard for Modbus) or 8888.

3. Eastron Meter Setup

Ensure the meter’s internal settings match the converter’s serial parameters (Baud rate, parity).

- **Modbus Address (Unit ID):** Ensure each meter has a unique address if multiple are on the same bus (default is usually 1).

4. Troubleshooting

- **No Data:** Check if A and B wires are swapped.

- **Parity Mismatch:** Verify if your meter is set to “None” or “Even” parity.

- **Address Conflict:** If you have multiple meters, ensure they have unique addresses (e.g., 1, 2, 3).

- **Connection Timeout:** Set the converter mode to `TCP Server` and ensure your firewall allows port 502

Hi Mathias,

To support you, I need to understand your setup.

Are the meters on the same modbus?

Do they have different modbus ID’s?

What TCP gateway are you using?

What type of meters do you have?
