Hi,

I got the same issue as @Layne_Staley where the previously saved fields are no longer visible. multiple DC restarts did not solve anything. Any other ideas to solve and/or avoid this in the future?

kind regards,
Floris

It is a lottery, but suddenly it just works. And it is still working for me. How about yours now, almost a day after your post?

No progress, I’ve been restarting it multiple times in the past days and it never reappears.

I do see the parameters when I check the homey developer page of the device

Ok, found it: my virtual device used all ‘better logic library’ variables. Restarting BLL did bring the virtual device back to life!

Hi.

I am ab bit stuck with constructing a status text from 2 boolean fields/properties:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/0/c/0ce2e940f88d2b2556c25121b5b1e810e535b3fa.png)

I am aware how it works with one property using $value. But I am stuck with two properties ($values ?). I want to check both boolean properties and construct a combined status text depening on either value.

Couldn´t find any example and would be happy if someone could explain, what to do or point me to an example or any other helpful information.

Cheers
Peter

I am not sure whether you can reference other fields in the AVD.

You can use a flow that triggers on a change in the values you want to combine, and then combine them and store them in another BLL variable (that sources your field). Or simply update the field in the AVD directly, instead of basing the field on a BLL variable.

EDIT - Apparently you can reference specific values, in case you have selected multiple device capabilities as input for the field. Check this post: [[APP][Pro] Device Capabilities - Enhance the capabilities of devices - #1388 by Arie\_J\_Godschalk](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-device-capabilities-enhance-the-capabilities-of-devices/43287/1388).

Hi @SunBeech

What I am referencing are two boolean fields/properties of that device (not BLL variables,; BLL here just means using BLL logic, I think). And I am asking myself, why would it be possible to attach/reference more than one boolean or numeric field/property, if you can’t use them…

I also find it very intriguing to encapsulate the status text generation within the Device vs building a flow.

Check my prior post for my edit. I first thought you were referring to two fields in the AVD, but later saw that you want to reference two device capabilities that are source of that field.

Further note that you should use a regular Text Field for displaying the status, instead of the superseded former Status Field in the AVD. You can select any text field as device indicator now 😀.

I know and I use a regular text field:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/2/0/2040dae90a3eb80fc12e099a99825c1c7a78d94e.png)

And that are the two bools I reference:

Maybe @Arie_J_Godschalk can help with this…

@4x4_Pete, Below an example on how to combine values.

An AVD that has a temperature and humidity value. I combined both values in a status field via a flow (Status) or via a calculation in the AVD’s field itself (Status 2). Same result.

 ![IMG_2874](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/4/f/4f0ffbf3069b28a6e3e745a7ea50ffb4f596dab2.jpeg)

**Option 1 (Status): Combine values via a flow and update the AVD’s field**

 ![IMG_2876](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/d/7/d726b5cdf6ec82914f68fc779dd1cbf3a09b0c37.jpeg)

**Option 2 (Status 2): Combine values in the AVD’s field definition itself**

 ![IMG_2875](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/7/b/7b0184b0a9e2edb29b3558643474330ec55ed484.jpeg)

Note that if you need to do more complex calculations or e.g. check depencies, then a flow is more practical.

So… I have a device with this many sensors…

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/1/3/13e8f8ca6abdb828bf059a4a54e6895330227f4b.jpeg)

Is that why my app is crashing a lot? What if i devide it into multiple devices, would that work?

More outside the screenshot area…

“What could you possibly need all those for..” Well i integrated my Euro Truck Sim 2 into Homey 😆😆

Your flow updates all fields in parallel. Maybe that’s too much. Try updating them in series (or series of parallel blocks).

@Arie_J_Godschalk I have some AVD with a timer from chronograph that are not working anymore, when I open the device all settings are gone, it is still showing the timer in the card but the BLL expression I used to convert timer to days is not working. When making a new device same problem, icon selection is empty and when selecting Chronograph there are no selections to make.

Is there something changed in Homey that have messed up your app or is there something strange happening in my homey?
