I now see what you mean.

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/f/4/f41e110086608ed8aa7c468625bd0d80ba0aaf06.png)

I do not use this wizard myself (inefficient screen usage), and I think other users do not use it (often) either, judging by the responses in this forum.

Perhaps the ‘Status’ (on/off) option of this wizard needs to be linked to the device’s on/off option, but that does not seem possible at the moment.

Using the ‘Light’ output mode could be a solution, because when I turn on the light with Homey, Dashboard Studio also changes the status of that light (which is not the case when you choose ‘Switch’).

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/8/4/8465cf5e710d8151880ce2d32ebc44e799945324.png)

When this still is not the solution, restart the Dashbaord Studio app.

Alternative: try switching on or off the cache option in de App settings:

> - Unless I’ve overlooked it, have you considered adding a **“Position Objects”** feature, similar to PowerPoint, allowing users to **align** objects (Left, Center, Right, Top, Middle, Bottom) and **distribute** them horizontally or vertically? I found myself wanting to use that while fine-tuning the layout of my dashboard.

You can fine tune the positions of widgets with the “Layout & Dimensions” slide out settings inside the widget to overrule the grid positioning settings, but there are indeed no alignment options yet. I will add it to the feature request list, Jean. If I implement this, it will be based on the container boundaries. I see you have several icons where the container is invisible, and it would be too hard to make the alignment work on just the visible contents.

> - Another thing I came across concerns solar power readings from HomeWizard kWh meters. I prefer to read my solar production from these meters directly, but that means the power is initially reported as a negative value. I worked around this using a Homey Flow, but would it be possible to add an option to **invert a value** (effectively multiplying it by -1)? I can imagine that being useful in a few other scenarios as well.

There is already an “invert” option when boolean (true or false) settings are made dynamic, or when you create custom true or false values:

 ![afbeelding](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/9/9/999af71e25ed838bb55fef97fbdda6a493ec14c4.png)

However, I could expand this to include numerical values and maybe add some basic math options. I will think about this.

Hmm, I cannot recreate this problem either because Edge, Firefox, and Chrome all work just fine. Can you right click the dashboard and select “inspect”? That will open the developer tools. Look for a tab called “Console” and click it. Then try changing the colors again and let me know if you see any errors pop up.

Also, thank you so much for the donation @widameista! I really appreciate it 🍻

Yes, Amersfoort is right, but I see there is a bug where the option to make the state dynamic does not pop up. I will fix this 👍

> It is on iPad

So the state of the button is connected to the same topic, right? And does this problem only seem to happen with the Yale locks, Hakan? According to your description, it is only failing sometimes rather than always. Just as a test, could you dynamically connect it to the “Default State” setting of an icon widget:

 ![afbeelding](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/0/6/060c55855cbe4ba568e4add650f6d48823ebbb29.jpeg)

Let me know if it shows the same unresponsive behaviour.

I heard from another user with Shelly devices that did not always update inside DS, but I could not reproduce or solve that problem since I do not own Shelly (or Yale) devices. Do you have any other devices that become unresponsive at times?

Can you try enabling this feature in the Dashboard Studio Homey configuration:

 ![afbeelding](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/8/e/8ead1ad1befe8ef8b9dc98f5cd1661a6263d9a7c.png)

This will show a message when the connection to Homey is broken. It is possible that the connection to Homey and DS is broken the update due to WiFi problems or other network quirks.

Thanks.

Yes, the button state is connected directly to the same locked capability/topic.

The problem only seems to happen with my Yale locks. I have three Yale locks, and they all occasionally show the old state until the dashboard is reloaded.

I will test an Icon Widget with the same topic as you suggested and also enable the connection warning to see if the Homey connection drops.

I’ll report back with the results.

And this is only in the theme color section, right?

 ![afbeelding](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/8/0/80bf0dbeda9908348c26774c0e1d85a18a75f434.png)

Not in any other widget where you can select a color?

Does this freezing happen when you click a color, or does it already happen when you press that dropdown icon? Does it freeze if you click the dropdown and then click it again to close it without selecting a color?

Can you try to pinpoint exactly when it freezes? Like when selecting a color, sliding the sliders, or adding a hex code manually?

Sorry for all the assignments 😅, but it is so hard to solve a problem that I can’t reproduce over here!

i open the dropdown and

1. click somewhere in the slider → freeze on click
2. move the slider → freeze on mouse release

but dont worry, i’m happy with the current colors.
i finished rebuilding my existing dashboard (which is no longer supported) and only thing i need is the fix in the light grid 🙂

- Somewhere… so it even freezes when not clicking a color or slider but also on the backing panel?
- This freezing does not happen in any other widget? Only in the “Theme Colors section” (like for example not in a gauge widget “start color” or something?

# [NEW STABLE version 1.10.7](https://homey.app/a/com.satoer.dashboardstudio/):

- **Fixed:** Adjusting hue, saturation, and brightness in the color picker no longer freezes or slows down the editor.
- **Fixed:** Light Grid widget - individual light settings (name, output mode, switch state, and on/off actions) can now be linked to live data.

> [@widameista](#):
>
> in the current Test version i am not able to change colours in the template.
> i go to theme colors, choose whatever color picker, choose a color and the website freezes.
> tested with chrome and Edge.

This problem has been fixed. I could recreate the problem. I thought selecting a color was problematic, but changing the sliders did freeze the editor. Please check if it works for you now.

> [@widameista](#):
>
> if i switch on the dashboard, it works fine.
> if i switch the shutter in homey, the status is not reflected in the dashboard, whild the topics are correct , see screenshot.
> anyone has an idea?

It is now possible to make the “state” (and other settings) of the light grid devices dynamic, so it can reflect the actual Homey state.

maybe another bug (sorry ) :
in the template settings for the light grid → Light name i choose a font and font size, but in the widget itself both setting are not resetting to those settings, but to something different (i can not find)

i tried to find it in the json and its:
“lgTileFont”: and
“editboxFontSize”:

if i change those 2, the light name in light grid (set to default) is changing.
so i guess this is linked in a wrong manner.
Maybe this helps you (@Satoer ) in debugging

what i also cant find is the grid layout defaults:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/a/a/aaa1debe40461285d29382492fbc925805ecc212.png)

to which default settings this values are referring to?

I am trying to recreate this problem, but it works fine on my end.

 ![afbeelding](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/4/5/45b91d1df220058d2cc9cb5990c39ceb72555d47.jpeg)

I even added a custom google font in the main Typography settings and selected this font in the “Light name” Typography settings of the Light widget. Everything I change seems to change the “Light name” typography just fine?

Can you make a step by step example how to recreate your problem starting from a blank canvas? Please explain the result you are getting and what you expected the result to be.

These “typography” slide out sections were added later. In earlier versions all these settings were scattered inside the settings. So it could be that some of these settings have left over legacy keys inside the json.

I should structure these defaults settings better I think. In the widgets they are grouped in sections. Maybe I should do the same in the default settings, though I am just not sure if sections inside sections would make it better.

Ah thanks. I can reproduce this problem. So it seems the default typography settings are not linked to the typography settings inside the widget. I shall fix this.

However:

Might be me, I had that problem in the beginning. Solved it with your solution (Flow ‘DS item triggered’…). But recently I tried again just with the state & output to the same onoff topic ans seems to work pretty fine…
