I ended up quickly modding something around [GitHub - Hyundai-Kia-Connect/hyundai\_kia\_connect\_api: This is a Kia UVO and Hyundai Bluelink written in python. It is primary consumed by home assistant. If you are looking for a home assistant Kia / Hyundai implementation please look here: https://github.com/Hyundai-Kia-Connect/kia\_uvo. Much of this base code came from reading bluelinky and contributions to the kia\_uvo home assistant project.](https://github.com/Hyundai-Kia-Connect/hyundai_kia_connect_api) with mqtt to have support for charging my Ioniq5.

If anyone is interested, I can share more details. It requires MQTT instance and a place to run simple Python script. Then you can use MQTT Client to both set and get car properties (checked only with Ioniq5 for my needs)

Let’s hope they understand that user/owners wants to use smart home systems to keep their power bill in check.

I’d say Hyundai doesn’t really care about its EV users. Every “solution” they’ve offered so far for issues like the 12V battery, ICCU, or Bluelink services basically boils down to: _“buy the new facelift model, it’s fixed there”_ — until you find out a few years later that it’s not. ☹

> I’m currently in touch with Hyundai / KIA to discuss what official API access could look like. It’s clear that the world of home automation is still quite new to them, and they’re exploring what the best approach would be. In an ideal scenario (which I’m rooting for) they’ll release officially supported APIs so not only we, but the entire smart home community can benefit. That said, these are large organizations with many layers to work through, so things might take some time.

if one is interested the VERY BASIC and half tested stuff is: [GitHub - pigmej/mqtt-hyundai-kia: A simple wrapper for Hyundai/Kia to MQTT](https://github.com/pigmej/mqtt-hyundai-kia)

it works for me and allows me to schedule charging and do all the operations that I needed. There is no “cool” interface for everything, but all should work. All should be possible to set via MQTT (just use some MQTT explorer to play with), and then use the MQTT Client in Homey to do some automations.

I can’t login anymore. My credentials do work, because if I select another region, then I receive an authentication error. The error I receive now is pairing failed bad request on POST. Error message is invalid values.
I have checked my password by login out and back in with the Bluelink App and have changed my PIN code, but still doesn’t work

The only solution that I am aware of is workarounds. If you have a place to run workaround, then I can [GitHub - pigmej/mqtt-hyundai-kia: A simple wrapper for Hyundai/Kia to MQTT](https://github.com/pigmej/mqtt-hyundai-kia) will help (I’m using it obviously).

Another solution would be the Home Assistant integration: [GitHub - Hyundai-Kia-Connect/kia\_uvo: A Home Assistant HACS integration that supports Kia Connect(Uvo) and Hyundai Bluelink. The integration supports the EU, Canada and the USA.](https://github.com/Hyundai-Kia-Connect/kia_uvo) (works for me). Everytime I click a github link and see tons of text, no download/install-buttons, I struggle to know what to do next as a non-coder.
Could you ELI5 how(and where) to use the stuff in the link to get Hyundai cardata to/from Homey?

I have now tried several times to generate the data via Home Assistant (Kia Niro). I used a Windows 11 computer and followed the posted instructions strictly.
However, I failed miserably in the implementation. As soon as the script is to be executed, my virus scanner (Bitdefender) immediately kicks in and warns that the script is dangerous.
The same thing happened to me with a Linux computer. It’s simply too dangerous for me to turn off the virus scanner and try again. I’m done with this method; try it at your own risk.
I have now given up on following these instructions and hope that an internal solution can be found in Homey so that I can continue to use the data.

@Gruijter Is there a way way we can help and request this with Hyundai / Kia?
When they receive a lot of request, you should think they will work in getting this fixed?

Please let me know where we can request this at Hyundai / Kia.
