New version 2.4.0 is available **for testing** :

> **[Growatt | Homey](https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.growatt/Growatt/test/)**
>
> Smart energy for a green future.

- Add temperature and inverter\_efficiency
- Add measure\_current for grid meter
- Fix/improve solar inverter power and energy mapping
- Fix grid meter energy mapping
- Fix local timezone handling
- Fix/improve NOAH mapping
- Disregard ghost battery data
- Adaptive API queueing
- Fix translations and shorten long titles
- Fix model naming

This is a pretty big update, **so some things might break for you.** You might see a on-time jump in energy, and do check your flows if they still do what you wanted!

**Grid meter:**
Added current per phase for supported systems (inv, min). Also the grid energy mapping is now improved/fixed for some systems.

**Solar Inverter:**
Much improved capability mapping, but at the cost that **you can get a one-time jump in the energy (kWh) value**. The mapping will now use the inverter AC side for solar yield when possible. Note that for hybrid inverters this is not always possible, so then you are stuck with only measuring the DC side of things.
Added for inverters is the temperature (inv, min, storage, noah), and the ‘live’ inverter efficiency. This is the DC input power (from solar and/or battery) to AC output power. Note that for some inverters Growatt seems to have ‘hardcoded’ this efficiency to an unrealistic high value (always 98%), and sometimes the AC output is reported even higher than the DC input.

**Batteries:**
NOAH batteries/solar are now better mapped, and the charging/discharging sign has been fixed.

And already an updated test version 2.5.0:

> **[Growatt | Homey](https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.growatt/Growatt/test/)**
>
> Smart energy for a green future.

- JIT synced polling
- Fix pairing errors
- Improve pairing speed
- Fix target power
- Cleanup unused device settings
- Added test suite

This mostly fixes some pairing issues and issues with setting target power (limit) of inverters. But the most important change is that API polling will now automatically sync to when the cloud actually provides new data. This will get data updates much faster; 2.5 minutes faster on average, and noah updates even every minute (untested).

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the update, but I have a question about the efficiency. How is it calculated?
Because this doesn’t seem realistic to me:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/6/e/6e17cbf6cc931adac3cbee4617bd89d686079eb2.jpeg)

This one is a bit better, but still mathematically not correct

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/4/2/424046386966945dbdf2a5a59b4b9bc254808db7.jpeg)

These are both Growatt 3000TL3-S inverters, app at 2.5.0

Thanks!

To me it looks like the AC/DC (%) from the last (valid) reading (see screenshot this morning).
Your 0 / 0 makes it difficult 😆

Yes, it Is exactly that. Look in your Insights history to see how efficiency changes with different loads @DaneedeKruyff

Some time ago I’ve installed the **Experimental** version. How do I **revert** to the last stable / released version without loosing connection to my device?

Just install the stable version from the app store over the experimental version. All data will stay ok.

The Thor charger isn’t exposed through Growatt’s official OpenAPI, which only covers inverters, batteries and Noah, so it can’t be added at the moment.

You can ask Growatt if they intend to add support in their official API.

So I have the 2.5.1 version in use for my Growatt min 5000tl-x. The power limit setting has worked in the past but not anymore. I have removed my device and added it again but that didn’t help. I haven’t changed anything about the inverter or it’s connection to the web. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the log. It only covers the evening, so it doesn’t show the moment you set the limit. Could you set a limit in daylight while the inverter is producing more than that limit, then send a diagnostics log straight away? Please also tell me:

1. the watt value you set, and what your device’s “nominal power” setting is (it should be 5000 for a MIN 5000TL-X)
2. how you checked that the setting is there (ShinePhone, the Growatt website, or something else), and what value it showed
3. whether anything else controls your inverter, for example your energy supplier’s curtailment or an export limit set by your installer

As far as I can tell, the app sends the limit, Growatt confirms it, and it arrives in the inverter. The question is why the inverter doesn’t act on it.

New version 2.6.0 is ready for testing:

> **[Growatt | Homey](https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.growatt/Growatt/test/)**
>
> Smart energy for a green future.

- Breaking: combine all batteries on same inverter into a single device
- Breaking: replace alarm\_generic with alarm\_problem and alarm\_connectivity
- Add battery SoH and temperature
- Better detection of sleeping inverters
- Stability improvements

Especially the change in multiple battery mapping into Homey is a big change. It is needed because the Growatt API does not provide enough information or controls to split the batteries into separate Homey devices. If you previously had multiple batteries from the same inverter paired to Homey, you will now see that only one will keep working showing a combined functionality. The other battery will be unavailable, showing a message that you should delete the device in Homey.
