Hi everyone,

I own a BYD Sealion 7 and there was no BYD app for Homey yet, so I built one. It connects to the BYD cloud (the same service the official BYD app uses) and brings your car into Homey and your Flows.

**Install (test version):** [BYD Vehicle (unofficial) | Homey](https://homey.app/a/cz.severa.byd/test/)
The app has been submitted for certification, so it should appear in the App Store soon.

### What it does

**Status:** battery %, range, charging state, time to full, battery power, locked, doors/trunk open, windows open, interior temperature, tire pressures, location, “at home”, car awake/asleep, odometer. A **Refresh now** button on the device tile.

**Flow triggers:** battery dropped below / rose above X %, charging started / stopped, cable plugged in / unplugged, car arrived home / left home, location changed.

**Flow conditions:** battery above/below X %, is charging, cable plugged in, car at home, car awake.

**Flow actions:** lock / unlock, start climate (temperature + duration), stop climate, flash lights, find car (horn + lights), close windows, refresh status, start / stop charging (experimental).

### Before you start

1. **Use a second BYD account.** BYD allows only one active login per account, so Homey would log you out of the BYD app on your phone. In the BYD app, share the car with a second account and use that one in Homey.
2. **Set a control PIN** in the BYD app (Settings \> Security) for that account. It is needed for lock/unlock, climate, lights and windows. Careful: several wrong PIN attempts block remote control for the rest of the day.
3. Add the device: Devices \> + \> BYD Vehicle (unofficial), sign in, choose your country.

### Tested cars

- BYD Sealion 7 (EU) – tested by me

Other models (Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, Seal U, Han, Tang …) use the same BYD cloud and should work, but I can’t test them. **Please let me know how it works with your car!** Hybrids (DM-i) show the electric range only.

### Good to know

- Every status update can wake the car, which uses some energy. The default interval is 10 minutes (5 minutes while charging), you can change it in the device settings.
- Start/stop charging is experimental and may not work in every region.

### Reporting problems

If a value looks wrong, open the device settings, scroll down to **Diagnostics** and post the “Last raw charging data” line here, together with your car model and country. That helps me a lot.

### Credits

This app builds on the great reverse-engineering work of **pyBYD / hass-byd-vehicle** by Joel Kåberg and **ioBroker.byd** by TA2k. Thank you!

This is an unofficial app and is not affiliated with BYD.
