Blink for home login issue

Howdy, I had to recreate my Homey self-host and I tried to log into my Blink account and it immediately kicks me out with “login data is invalid”

Any idea what is causing this? Thanks

The new version works perfectly. I did find that it didn’t work installing it over the old version, but if I deleted the old one and then installed this version, it works perfectly!!! Thanks for much for doing this.

With the update to 2.1.4 in the mobile ver of homey, I get UN and PW, but now request for a 2FA code. In the web version of Homey (in firefox) i get even less. I was able to get it to function in Chrome.

Hello,

Every attempt I make to connect my Blink account I receive an error stating “the login data is invalid”

I am 100% confident that I am entering my correct login credentials.

Please advise on how I can connect and use my Blink account.

Could you please check if it is possible to modify the Homey app so that we can also control the built-in siren and light for the Blink Mini 2K+? In the official Blink app, both features can be turned on and off manually, so the underlying API should support it. It would be amazing if you could program this into a future update, specifically adding action cards to turn the siren and the light on and off within Homey.

Which camera exaxtly? I could only see a light in BlinkMini 2k. And a light on/off button in video view. But only from product images.

I have’t found code for that in other repositories. And I can’t test it myself (don’t have one).

The API is closed source. It’s only possible to find API endpoints sniffing the Blink app traffic. Not an easy way.

The Blink Floodlight is already added. The Floodlight is just a new setting for the connected camera. But I don’t know if Blink is using the same logic.

Hi, yes, I am talking about the Blink Mini 2K+, which was released in late 2024. This model features both the integrated spotlight and a built-in siren. Would it be possible for you to integrate switches to turn the siren on and off, as well as the spotlight? By the way, the spotlight control also doesn’t seem to work for the standard Blink Mini 2 (the 1080p model) yet, so maybe you could implement it for that one as well. Since you don’t have these devices yourself, I would be happy to test the implementation for you on my end. While checking my setup, I also noticed a small bug: I still have a very old battery-powered Blink Indoor from 2021, and Homey shows a flow card option to activate the floodlight for it, even though this camera doesn’t support that feature at all. It’s just a minor visual bug, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

As already said, there is no API description. Everything is done by reverse engineering. I would need a device to check network traffic (with a very ole Android device where it’s possible).

But I added some device details to app log. Perhaps I can see identical attributes
**Please install the test version, then send a diagnostics log after the app has started.**

Let’s see if the Mini is using the same logic like the floodlight (but I don’t think so, because it’s not an accessory).

PS: The light flowcard is available for cameras, but only useable if a floodlight is connected. I can’t hide it dynamically. But the buttons in device details are added/removed dependent on a floodlight.

Hi, thanks for the explanation! However, there still seems to be a small inconsistency: The light flow card is currently only visible for the camera device itself, but it doesn’t show up at all for the other devices. If it’s a fixed capability for the driver, shouldn’t it be visible – even if unusable – across all of them? Right now, it’s completely hidden on the others, which behaves differently than what you described. As requested, here is the diagnostics code for you to look into: 996e9fb1-c2a4-4287-a844-81805240c90e. Best regards!

You can also use an emulator without Google Play Store but with Google Play Services/APIs (since that’s required for some apps to function). Then, you can still intercept HTTPS even on modern Android. You can install the apps from the Aurora Store if needed. This is what I use for reverse engineering the apps from the manufacturers. You can install the emulators for free in [Android Studio](http://developer.android.com/studio) (by Google)

It’s only available for the outdoor camera device/driver, not for Mini camera.
