I really missed Sonarr and Radarr widgets. So, I’ve been working on an app…

You can find the app in the [Homey App Store](https://homey.app/nl-nl/app/net.ladenius.arr/Arr-Video-Suite/).

 ![WhatsApp Image 2026-04-14 at 12.11.12](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/2/e/2ea5a7553fb0f1edee6f216742f74ba23e1f78f2.jpeg)

Arr Video Suite brings your Sonarr and Radarr media servers into Homey as devices, giving you real-time status, flow automation, and home screen widgets for your media library.

Hey @jurjen74 ,

Great app, thanks for investing your time to get it built!

Question about the ‘Episode is airing today’ Sonarr flow card - when will this trigger? Is it the minute the episode has aired? At 00:00 on the day the episode airs? Or another time?

I’m trying to setup user notifications whereby at a specific time of day, I can send notifications to users to notify them that a new episode is ready to watch. I only want to do this on “actual” new episodes (actual renewal within a day or two). I was going to use the ‘Episode is airing today’ flow card and the ‘Already downloaded’ tag to check if a new episode was available. Do you know how I can achieve this?

Cheers.

Well… Currently it’s UTC , the ‘airing today’ does not mean it’s downloaded. There is an ‘episode downloaded’, but that does not include whether it is new or not. I’ll see if I can add more info to some of the flow cards next weekend. I’ll keep you updated.

Alright. A new version is in test: [Arr Video Suite | Homey](https://homey.app/en-nl/app/net.ladenius.arr/Arr-Video-Suite/test/)
It should be released to production soon.

Hope this helps in your case.

Airing today will always trigger around 12:00 AM , so that can be way before or way after a show was aired based on your timezone and the timezone it was aired in.
So notification based on detecting newly aired/downloaded series/movies is better with the downloaded events.

This version allows for easy new/upgrade detection in series and movies like this:

Hi @jurjen74, this solution works flawlessly and was exactly what I was looking for, thanks again!

I use Seerr so all household members can request new TV shows and series. With the current solution, users would get a notification every time a new episode is downloaded, and depending on series length and number of series requested, it could end up being many! Could a ‘Series downloaded’ flow card be made available?

Cheers.

Just saw your question about the series. Must have missed the mail. That cannot be done. I just don’t know when you started a new series/season download. But I suppose that multiple events will happen rather quickly, so you could use a variable/timer to send a message after a new episode hasn’t downloaded for half an hour or so. (or when another series is downloaded)
