So new investigations:

Apple drops the iCloud session when the app leaves it quiet for a while. The next refresh has to re-establish it, and that’s what Apple reports to you as a login. So the emails depended on your polling interval: short intervals kept the session alive and stayed quiet, long intervals found it dead at every refresh and mailed you each time. @Drako74’s flow moves his interval between 2 and 15 minutes when he leaves home, and the emails started and stopped right along with it — that’s what gave it away.

[1.9.5](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-apple-find-my/114491/815) keeps the session alive on its own timer, so your interval no longer decides this. Nothing to change on your side.

This does **not** add any requests to your devices and won’t affect their battery. Your interval still controls that completely, the new timer only talks to your iCloud account, never to your devices

If you still get login emails on 1.9.5, please send a diagnostic report, that would mean there’s a second cause and I’d want to see it.

He martijn

But i had 15 min intervals during the night … no mails

So the 15 min is not the cause

@Dennis_H74 but the cause is the interval, so i separated that. so device update and account keep-alive are 2 separate things now 🙂

Hello @martijnpoppen

Over the past week, I have encountered significant trouble with the app. Four units are listed there, yet only one updates as expected. A few days ago, the unit functioning today failed while the other three worked; I am unsure what is happening.

@martijnpoppen

The units receive no new data, such as battery status. Homey reports they have not been detected for some time. This issue has occurred across three of my four devices, despite previous flawless operation.

@martijnpoppen

Sorry, two iPhones and a MacBook Air are involved. The repair didn’t resolve the issue; the devices only show “loading” with no further response. Restarting the app and the Homey didn’t help.

I removed all devices and added them again, so it works now , but if I’m not mistaken, I tried that a few weeks ago and the problem returned. I’m not certain .

I’ll send a new diagnostic if it occurs again—if it happens again.

This kind of trouble has never happened before, and I’ve used your excellent app for a long time.

@martijnpoppen My iPad the only one I had not re-added stopped updating its status once I restored the other devices, this is weird. If I re-add that iPad, the others halt again, so that is my problem. Everything works as it should in the iOS find my app.

</div>

@Daniel_Fille Found it !
thanks for the detail about the iPad, that’s what gave it away. It’s a real bug: the app was matching devices to your Apple ID by a stored value that changes every time the app restarts, so devices added at different times ended up in separate groups and only one group got updated. Re-adding a device moved it into the working group and pushed the others out, exactly as you saw. Fixed in the next release; no need to re-pair anything once it lands.

@martijnpoppen Thank you for the update and the clear explanation. The iPad updated its status after I installed the new version, though only once so far; it has now gone five hours. The others continue updating as expected—perhaps I should re-add it. Do you need a new diagnostic report?
