Hi, First of all, thank you for your effort in developing this app. Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same issue: the app keeps logging me out of my account. When this happens, all of my devices connected to Alexa become unresponsive, and the flows associated with those devices stop executing. I have created several advanced flows with Homey Pro 2026 that end with a speak message via Alexa. They have all tested well and have worked as intended …. for a few days. However, about every 2 to 3 days they fail. The reason consistently appears to be that the App (Alexa by Janie Speake) has lost contact with Amazon Alexa. ‘Repair’ requests Amazon log-in and password with the appropriate server which immediately corrects the problem for another few days. I am delighted with the results when they work but the inconsistency means I cannot rely on them for warnings etc. Is there a known problem with Alexa and how can I overcome this? ---

I’m very appreciative of the efforts which have gone into this app. And for whatever efforts have gone into troubleshooting the problems logged by many users. This app appears broken as numerous people report 1) not being able to log in, 2) logins being dropped every x hours or y days. Unlike many, I am able to actually log in, but similar to just as many - doing so works only temporarily - it disconnects within hours sometimes, while other times it takes a couple days before disconnecting. Either way, every flow using this app ceases to work constantly. I understand you have no control over what Amazon does and are left to only react at times to poorly implemented/communicated changes on their part. Are the login issues/drops being actively pursued? Any updates to share? This issue has been going on for so long now and it doesn’t appear there is resolution in sight. ---

Hi, I installed the Alexa app by Jamie Peake a few weeks ago and it was working great getting spoken notifications, but every couple of days my devices become unavailable and I have to go to the app settings and log in again and then it will work for a day or to. I logged in last night and having to log in again tonight. Anybody else having trouble? Any ideas what I can do to sort this? Thanks Nick. ---

As you may find out when reading this topic, this is a common and a long standing issued with Amazon and the way the authentication works. At some time, you just have to re-login again. @Jamie has done as much as he could to get it as stable as possible. ---

**Hi Jamie,** Firstly, thanks for a great app. I’m using **v7.0.1** on a **Homey Pro (Early 2023)**, but every day or two (at random) the app completely logs out. All of my Echo devices get red warning triangles at the same time and I have to go through **Configure** again, selecting the region and re-entering my Amazon email, password and OTP. A simple reconnect isn’t enough. Homey hasn’t rebooted and the problem doesn’t seem to be related to the selected Amazon region. Is this a known issue, or is there anything I can do to help diagnose it? Thanks! ---

First, thanks for the ongoing work on this app — I know the disconnects are largely driven by Amazon-side changes you don’t control, so I appreciate you staying on it. I wanted to add a clean data point to the disconnect reports, in case the pattern helps narrow down what’s app-side vs. Amazon-side: - The constant re-linking started/worsened for me around Homey firmware 12.8.2. - The pattern is consistent: the connection holds for roughly 24–48 hours, then drops and requires a full manual re-link (Amazon username/password). It’s not a brief transient glitch — it reads like the token fully expiring rather than momentarily dropping. - I built the auto-recovery flow (“When we are unable to be authenticated…” → “Reconnect”). It does catch short transient drops, but once the token has fully expired the Reconnect card can’t recover it — it only works while the cached token is still valid. - For what it’s worth, I confirmed my account is NOT on Alexa+, so that variable can be ruled out in my case. My one question: is the token refresh / re-authentication handling something that can be improved on the app side — e.g. proactively refreshing the token before it fully expires — or is this fully gated by Amazon at this point? Happy to pull diagnostic reports or test anything that would help. Thanks again. @Jamie ---

An update to the [alexa-remote](https://github.com/Apollon77/alexa-remote) library (the one behind this app) has just been released that fixes the authentication issues: ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex025/uploads/athom/original/3X/2/3/23a9fedfb4e30f67f6571431861552194508bd4d.png) As soon as @Jamie updates the dependencies, the echo devices will work again (at least until Amazon changes the authentication flow again…) ---
