# [APP][Pro] Aqara FP2 - Solo

Bring your Aqara FP2 presence sensor into Homey, locally and without Apple Home.

Link to app: [Aqara FP2 - Solo | Homey](https://homey.app/a/com.aqara.fp2/test/)

**Why use it**

- Every zone you draw in the Aqara Home app becomes its own presence status in Homey, plus overall presence and light level
- Runs locally over your own network: no cloud, no Apple device, no extra apps
- Flow cards per zone: presence detected in a zone, a zone became empty, someone is / isn’t in a zone
- Reconnects by itself, and the device can be repaired without breaking your Flows

**Test version:** [https://homey.app/a/com.aqara.fp2/test/](https://homey.app/a/com.aqara.fp2/test/)

## Installation

The FP2 connects through HomeKit, and **a HomeKit device can only have one controller at a time**. Most problems come from the FP2 still being paired somewhere else.

1. Set up the FP2 and its zones in the **Aqara Home** app. Homey Pro must be on a network where it can see the FP2.
2. **Free the FP2 from other HomeKit controllers:**
  - On iPhone, the Aqara app adds the FP2 to **Apple Home** automatically. Remove it in the **Apple Home app** (not in the Aqara app). Check every Apple device and “home” in your household.
  - If you used the **HomeKit Controller** app on Homey for the FP2, delete the FP2 devices there first (HomeKit Controller app works fine, keep it if it works for you!)

3. Unplug the FP2 for 10 seconds and plug it back in.
4. In Homey: **Add device → Aqara FP2 - Solo** , choose your FP2, and enter the **8-digit HomeKit code** printed above the QR code on the FP2.

## Troubleshooting

- **“Already connected to another HomeKit controller”:** the FP2 is still paired elsewhere (step 2). If you can’t find where, reset the FP2 and set it up again in the Aqara app.
- **“Not accepting connections”:** the FP2 is restarting or needs a firmware update. Update it in the Aqara app and try again after a few minutes.
- **Zone names:** they should come from the FP2 itself. Name your zones in the Aqara app and push to homekit. (the zone names is a work in progress, i hope to fix in a later release)
- **Removing:** deleting the device in Homey releases the FP2, so it can be added again later without a reset.

## Version 2.0 – every zone is now its own device 🎉

Thanks for the interest so far! Version 2.0 is out on the test channel, and it fixes the biggest limitation of 1.x: the zone names.

**What’s new**

- **Zones are now separate devices.** Rename them with Homey’s normal name field, place each one in its own room, and use Homey’s built-in Flow cards.
- **Add zones whenever you like.** Created a new zone in the Aqara app? Just add FP2 Zone devices again: only zones that aren’t in Homey yet are shown, and no HomeKit code is needed.
- **The FP2 itself** still shows overall presence and light level.

**How to add zones**

1. Add the FP2 first, if you haven’t: **Add device → Aqara FP2 - Solo → Presence Sensor FP2** , with the 8-digit HomeKit code.
2. Then: **Add device → Aqara FP2 - Solo → FP2 Zone** , and tick the zones you want.

**Which zone is which?** The FP2’s HomeKit names don’t always match the numbering in the Aqara app, and one of them may cover the whole detection area. Leave the room until everything is off, walk into one zone at a time, and watch which device turns on. Then rename it.

**Upgrading from 1.x**
Your FP2 device keeps working and updates automatically. The zone tiles on it are gone, so add your zones with **FP2 Zone**. ⚠ Flows that used the old zone cards (“presence detected in [zone]” etc.) must be recreated with the new zone devices.
