# Advanced Flow - Trigger Card ID Or Device

Hi all,

Is there any way in an Advanced Flow to pass the Device ID or Device Name from the triggering WHEN card into a HomeyScript?

```auto
WHEN:

Ceiling Light → Turned On

THEN:

HomeyScript → toggle-scene (Device Name)

```

So essentially:

- A device triggers the Flow (e.g. _Ceiling Light turned on_)

- I want to pass **that triggering device** into a HomeyScript

- The script then uses the Device Name / ID to apply logic (e.g. toggle the correct scene for that zone)

Any guidance appreciated 👍

Hi Gareth,

It’s possible with this [Device Capabilities app](https://community.homey.app/t/app-pro-device-capabilities-enhance-the-capabilities-of-devices/43287) flow card for either the device name or -ID:  
(the result tag can be used as argument for a Hscript card)

Result output of the Simple (Sys) Log card:

When you only need the device name, you can use this Device Capabilities card:

_Note: ‘…from 0 minutes ago…’ means ‘the last updated value’_

Also note: this flowcard uses way less resources then the watch card.
