# Adding power usage from another energy reporting device

As a product enhancement you could edit the device and in advanced settings, instead of a manual input of “Power usage when off/on” numerical values for power consumption you could link that with the data from another power enabled device.  
The case I was looking for is adding energy reporting to A/C unit from a energy reporting energy plug.  
When asked how to achieve this in the forum the suggested solution was to use  
the “device capabilities” which is extremely complex for something that should be point and click functionality.
