Hi, I bought 5 smoke sensors from the brand Heiman. Modelname is hs1sa-e zigbee. I added 2 smoke sensors to Homey and Homey suggest the app KaKu from Trust. Sensor is added, but the flow doesn’t work if I test it with the button. I reset it and tried again to pair it but the same issu. I see a lot of topics but they’re very old. The only app of the Heiman in Homey is for the z-wave models. Can someone help me? ---

Nothing wrong with your flows, especially the second one cannot be easier. How did you test? With the blue triangle in the flow, a test button on the alarm or actually with smoke? You can make the test even easier by starting this flow with the triangle button. If I test both flows with the test button (blue button) in the flow. Everything is green. But is I use the test button on both smoke detectors nothing happened. ---

Using the developers tools you can test the communication between Homey and the smoke alarm. But as paring is successful I expect the communication is Ok. Otherwise ask the supplier, as the [manual](https://klikaanklikuit.nl/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/70197-70197-02_ZSDR-850-_MANUAL_KAKU-NEW-V3.pdf) does not give any clue. ---

From a Zigbee implementation point of view, there is a distinction between a IAS zone status update for a real (smoke) alarm and a test notification / alarm. Pressing the test button will likely only send a status update that the device is in test mode and therefore not trigger the smoke alarm capability within Homey. Some apps have implemented a way to capture this test notification / alarm. IMHO the best way to test any smoke sensor is to buy a smoke spray bottle to actually trigger the smoke sensor (and with that the smoke alarm). ---

Hello. Im not sure 2 years ago i switched to home assistant. There is both versions supported. In homey just a z-wave version in that time. Now im not sure. Gabriel ---

I test it with test gas. The smoke detector is beeping but nothing worked on homey ---

Then either the sensor is out of reach of Homey (unable to communicate) or there is an issue with the implementation of this driver… ---

I have the same Issue with my Smoke detector. It is a Heiman HS1SA-E, too. I can pair it with the Homey, but if I trigger it with smoke, it is beeping, but no notification and nothing is changing at the Homey Dashboard. Is there now a Solution? ---

I assume that nothing has changed since the last posts. Is the sensor recognized as an “Unknown/Generic Device” or as a Trust smoke sensor? ---

I also have this Heiman zigbee smoke detector. When I pair it with Homey, it suggest I use the “Trust” app. It is detected as a Trust smoke detector, but triggering the alarm with gas does not trigger the smoke alarm in Homey. Only the siren. Strange as it seems to be identical with the Trust smoke detector as the Homey is detecting it to be from Trust, but still not working. ---

I guess there are some little firmware differences between the Trust and the Heiman smoke detector. Because there isn’t an app for Heiman Zigbee devices at all, please ask Athom if they are willing to add the Heiman Zigbee smoke detector to their Trust app. ---

Did anyone get a solution for this issue? I have exactly the same situation, the unit pairs nicely, but it refuses to provide any alarm/notification except the first initial battery alarm (battery indicator also full). When pairing as a generic device it automatically takes the Trust App, despite of having the Heiman App, the Heiman instruction to pair is different as well (3x reset in 1,5sec, where Trust has a 5 sec hold of the reset button which works)). But until now no messages are received by Homey, even though it looks good in the developer tools (Zigbee network). Any other things I can do expect accepting that it is not fully integrated with Homey? Thanks and have a great 2026! 🙂 ---

Thanks Sven, the paring procedure in the Heiman does not seem to match my unit, it only works with the 5 second reset method from Trust. I have tried the Heiman manually as well, but their instruction does not make my unit go into pairing mode. I am checking the community store for Heiman Zigbee, but the Community Desktop app is not too easy to install on macOS.
